We prefer not to be encumbered with a car. Would this property be suitable? How is access to the Cinque Terre without a car? How close is it to the trains? Thanks, Dean and Connie

	911	229631	229630	9/20/2006 2:54:45 PM	There is a bus stop at the end of the driveway for the Villa that will take you to the La Spezia train station. We actually had cars for part of our group and the other half decided to use public transportation. As I was one of the people that opted for the car, I would highly recommend it. Parking can be a little difficult when heading into the larger cities (we parked the car in Monterosso and then took the train between the various cities within the Cinque Terre). However, as with most travel within not so populated areas of Europe, the trains and buses to do not always abide by the "posted schedule". Most of the girls that opted for public transportation ended up getting home very late at night as they had a difficult time finding cabs when getting in to the La Spezia train station later in the evening. I enjoyed the car as it also allowed us to travel freely to various areas around the villa (Portovenere, Florence and even San Remo). If you plan to stay solely in the surrounding area of the villa and you are not easily aggravated, public transportation is fine. I guess as an American, me and some of my friends needed immediate gratification and enjoyed being able to come and go as we pleased without waiting for a train or the language barrier of asking how to get from point A to point B. I hope this was helpful.
