There is a train schedule in the villa, and with the amount of departures, I'm not sure it would be necessary. I do remember some were shorter and some longer, depending on the stops. Figline, the town where the station is, is relatively large, and I think it's pretty much a commuter stop. We didn't have children with us either (I'm a lot of help!) I'm sure the kids would love the pool and the bikes if they are in decent shape. Exploring the area around the villa would be fun too, we enjoyed finding all the fruit trees and flowers. They'll probably get a kick out of the Italian dubbed American TV shows. I highly recommend the villa, it's beautiful and the photos don't do it justice. The top floor is perfect for kids, it's very cozy. There is wine and olive oil in a cabinet for sale from the estate.. .all of it great. Simply wonderful. I have been to Italy many times and this was one of the best. I didnt see any pool toys at all...but there is a cover/ portico over the table. We spent many nights out side chatting and drinking wine. Plenty of room to play soccer too. Right outside the fence along side the house and in the parking lot area next to the house. Just fine for activities. I would definity load up on supplies such as toliet tissue and any incidentials you think you will need on Sunday. The stores arent open. Pick up your foods on Sat afternoon for that evening and all day Sunday. As long as you have your own shampoos, toothpastes...etc. etc. and tolietries, you should be just fine. Some people have complained about the bugs at night. I didnt get them. There is however little plug ins that you can use in each room that once plugged in seem to zap the bugs. You will love it. Greve has a great grocery store and you can go to Lucolena for quick needs. Good luck on your travels and have a lot of fun. I have been back in the US for three weeks now and miss the villa alot. We stayed in the middle of October just as the seasons were changing. We are warm blooded and heat was not issue to us. We had 4 couples and plenty of warm water for showers. We did not have any additional cost for heat. We did for the wine we drank which was wonderful. We did not use the heat. The temps were cool at night, but the house was quite pleasant. I'm sorry I can't answer your question but I have to tell you that the villa was absolutely perfect in every way.
