Designed by a famous Italian architect in the late 1950's, this unique villa rental near Lake Maggiore is full of character and rounded edges. Great for a family, this villa faces the lake and is located in the small village of Reno di Leggiuno. A short walk through the garden of the villa will take you to the lake and a private boat dock.

Location Description

The lakeside villa is located 300 meters from the village of Reno di Leggiuno where there are four restaurants, a playground, a church, and a small port (but no food store). Seven kilometers away is the town of Laveno where there are shops, markets, restaurants, banks, a post office, and pharmacy. It is also where you'll find a ferry boat dock that can take you across the lake to the towns of Stresa and Pallanza. Also within walking distance are a wide range of water sports, delta flying, and cycling courses. There are two train stations located in Laveno, Ferrovie Nord and Ferrovie dello Stato, and this makes traveling to larger cities, such as Varese and Milan, extremely convenient. Varese is known for its place of pilgrimage, Sacro Monte (sacred mountain), and Milan, home to some of the biggest fashion shows in the world, is full of the country's best shops and boutiques. Some of the most beautiful lakes are also within day trip distance, including Lugano in Switzerland and Orta and Como in Italy. There is a beach area near the village of Reno, a 300 m walk.

Exterior Description

This villa was built in 1958 and is situated in the north part of the village of Reno di Leggiuno. The house, built on a rocky slope, faces the lake and has wonderful views of the Sempione mountain chain. There is a terrace with four sun loungers and chairs. Near the lake is a lawn area (150m2) table tennis, chairs and table, a portable barbecue, and a private dock. Parking for 4 cars is available within the property grounds. Please note that there are many levels, steps and slopes within the property.

Interior Description

This unique villa has rounded edges and is architecturally interesting. It was designed by a famous architect in the 1950's.

Ground/Main Floor: The entrance opens to the center of the building to a mezzanine level. There is a room with a washing machine, a guest bathroom with a toilet, and access to a large terrace.

Lower Ground Floor: A staircase of 12 steps leads down to a living room with couches, TV (a few English-speaking channels), and a DVD player. The adjacent dining room has a table with chairs and there is also a service bathroom with a toilet. The kitchen is equipped with a cook-top, oven, microwave, toaster, ice cube maker, and dishwasher.

First Floor: A staircase of six steps leads up from the ground/main floor to four bedrooms. The first bedroom has a 160 cm queen-sized bed and the second bedroom has two 80 cm narrow single beds (most suitable for children) and each share an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, shower, and tub. The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds (most suitable for children) and the fourth bedroom has a 160 cm queen-sized bed and each share an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, shower, and tub. There is also a small guest bathroom with a toilet and sink.

Second Floor: A staircase of 11 steps leads up to one bedroom with two 80 cm narrow single beds and a bathroom with toilet and shower.

• Housekeeping is provided for 3 hours in the middle of the week. Additional Housekeeping can be arranged for an additional fee.
