Sweeping vistas of the Chianti region beckon from the windows and garden of this restored villa and guest house. Ideal for three couples, this authentic Tuscan retreat makes a convenient base for exploring Florence and the many lovely towns and villages of Tuscany.

Location Description

The villa is located in the hills of the Chianti region, with expansive views extending tothe hills of the Val di Pesa and San Gimignano. The property is 2.5 kilometers from the ancient Abbey of Passignano, where Galileo once taught, and the historic village that surrounds it, which has three restaurants. The town of Sambuca—where there are food shops, a bank, post office and pharmacy—is 6 kilometers away. Tavarnelle Val di Pesa (supermarket, bank, restaurants, post office, tourist information) is 11.5 kilometers away, and Florence is within easy distance for a day trip. A caris necessary.

Exterior Description

The property is situated on a hilltop and offers gorgeous views of the Chianti area. At the side of the villa and guest cottage there is a garden, which is enclosed by a medieval wall and contains a large grassy area, a small above-ground swimming pool (3 x 5 m, open May to September), sunbeds and an umbrella. The stone terrace features a dining table for up to 8, and there is a barbecue. Onsite parking is available in front of the fortified wall.

Main House
Ground Floor: A courtyard leads to the entrance to the villa. The combined living and dining room features a sofa and two armchairs, large pietra serena fireplace, dining table for six and a door to the outside area. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, breakfast table for four and windows that overlook the valley. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed (160 cm), views of the valley and an ensuite bathroom with a shower, sink, toilet and hairdryer. One of the bedrooms also has a fireplace.

Guest Cottage
Ground Floor: A separate entrance leads to this three-level cottage, where the main floor (four steps down) features a living area with a sofa, armchairs and TV. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, toaster oven and table for four. Stairs lead to the first and second levels.
First Floor: There is a bathroom with a shower, sink, toilet, bidet and hairdryer.
Second Floor: There is a bedroom with queen-size bed (160 cm), large wardrobe and views of the valley.
