This location is for those who have always wanted to stay in the midst of a famous wine estate in the Chianti Classico. Vineyards, a trattoria, pool, tennis court, and reception are all there for your enjoyment. The borgo, though rural, is conveniently located between Florence and Siena.

Located on a famous wine estate in the Chianti Classico area, this is a beautifully renovated and restored stone hamlet with views of vineyards and rolling hills. The hamlet is located two kilometers from the small town of Montefiridolfi which offers basic shops. It is conveniently located midway between the cities of Florence and Siena and close to the unofficial capital of the Chianti region: Greve in Chianti. Greve is a wonderful small town overlooked by the Castle of Montefioralle. Visit Piazza Matteotti for an espresso and explore the shops or pick up some local produce at the Saturday morning market. If you’re traveling in late summer or fall, expect to stumble upon food and wine festivals held regularly in the town. Traveling by car from this location is convenient as the exit from the Superstrada is in Tavernelle Val di Pesa.

This estate consists of the main complex comprised of 17 apartments (Bianco apartments), a reception desk, and pool area, tennis court, and a trattoria. Additionally, there is a farmhouse (Rosso apartments) housing seven beautiful apartments on the hillside above. Access to the Rosso farmhouse is via 2 km of a steep, unpaved road (common in the Chianti region). There is one pool for the Bianco apartments and another one for the Rosso apartments. They are open from May to the end of October. Guests staying in the Rosso apartments can drive down the unpaved road to the main complex to use the facilities.

Ground Floor: Located in a beautiful old-fashioned barn, this is a three-bedroom apartment that enjoys both complete privacy and convenient proximity to the swimming pool. There is one twin-bedded room, one double bedroom, and one attic-level double bedroom (accessed via a staircase and has no door) with a view of the countryside. There are two ground floor bathrooms: One bathroom has a shower stall, while the master bathroom has both a tub and a large shower stall tiled in travertine mosaics. The living room has large windows, a TV, and a fireplace. Both the kitchen/dining room and living room open onto the patio.

Overall:
Oustanding, awesome, and amazing. Everything about the villa and the estate exceeded our expectations. The views from every direction were breathtaking and the villa itself was perfect in every way. The pictures on your website did not do it justice.
Enjoyed Most:
The views, the comfort of the villa and the friendliness of the staff at the cantina. Also the delicious cappucino we had every morning made by Vanessa and Eleanora.
Enjoyed Least:
If I have to say anything negative about the property it would be that the Internet connection was spotty.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty of the vineyards, the local restaurants and nearby towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small town was Montefiridolfi and it was not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa had everything you could possibly need including a dishwasher. The best restaurant nearby is Cantinetta di Passignano which is about 3 km from the villa. We sat outside and had one of the best meals of our entire 3 weeks in Italy.
Directions:
We did use and need GPS to find the property. Directions could be improved by including distances between landmarks.

Montfiridolfi.....it was not within walking distance

To visit Greve and Volterra.....great restaurant, wonderful food was Cantinetta Di Passignano
Check In Out:
No, that went very smoothly....when we checked in, we were a little late and lunch was finished, but the girls in the kitchen whipped us up a great lunch of cheeses, bread and prosciutto.

Overall:
I have been all over the world many times. This is the first time, however, I had been to the Tuscany area. I have never enjoy a more scenic tranquil vacation in all my seventy years of trying. That is about all there is to say about the villa we stayed in!
