Overall:
Very good to almost excellent. The apartment was spacious. The terrace was exactly a advertised....large, quiet, and inviting. The owner/host is most gracious and excellent for any questions, or needs....very accommodating. Her having a number of food items in the kitchen and refrigerator for us upon arrival was very gracious, along with the bottle of wine.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, the space within the apartment, the owner, the terrace, and the extra and small amenities that are included, such as the highly equipped kitchen.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairway to the upper bedroom is rather steep.
Surrounding Area:
That it is not in Avignon.....so no crowds, easy walking to many restaurants, and a few shops....and their weekly market is fantastic.
Tips or Restaurants:
Not really, small things: Think about getting some ice, use Yelp! for dining recommendations...we found them to be spot-on. Be sure to go to the weekly Thursday market right in town a few blocks away.....a very, very good market.
Directions:
We used GPS and would recommend that highly. The written instructions we had were good, a bit confusing at the very beginning just out of the train station, but I would blame us for that, more than the directions.
Check In Out:
No, Danielle, met us upon arrival, and was sure to be up and say good-bye on the day we left rather early in the morning. She could not have been more accommodating or helpful.

Overall:
Beyond our dreams! Everything was well maintained, furnished and tastefully done.
Enjoyed Most:
The peacefulness of the beautiful patio area. The contrast of the 14th century architecture against the modern lighting, artwork and furnishings.
Enjoyed Least:
If a person had knee problems, the amount of stairs would be a problem.
Surrounding Area:
Small, quiet and quaint village. Everything was in walking distance - shops, museums, restaurants and bus stops.

We were in the village.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything is in walking distance from the villa, so renting a vehicle is not necessary. We thought we needed one since our impression of the location of the villa was that it was more rural than it is.
Directions:
We called the key person when we got to Avignon and her son came to us and we followed him to the villa. That worked out perfectly.

So easy and smooth when checking in and leaving.

Overall:
The place was wonderful from the moment we pulled into the gorgeous medieval town and arrived at this 14th century dwelling that had served as a dwelling for cardinals centuries ago.
Enjoyed Most:
The overall feeling was one of being transported into the Old World. Except for the amenities of the place! There were three great sleeping areas, all very private, one in a little turret with its own bathroom. The other two rooms share a full bath and a half bath. The property also has lots of options for mealtime. There is a table outside, one in a greenhouse terrace attached to the kitchen, and for more formal dining there is the long oak banquet table in the main living area.
Surrounding Area:
There are many wonderful towns like Chateau-Neuf du Pape and Avignon, and market towns like St-Remy, all within a short distance. But Villeneuve itself has some truly wonderful gardens with stunning views both in the fortress and at the other end of town, as well as one of the largest monasteries in France. The town also had restaurants, bakeries, and other shops within walking distance which were quite good.

The town of Avignon is a 20-minute walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
The owner lived nearby and was a very charming and helpful person if you needed her. An American friend of hers has put together a very good orientation binder for when you arrive. You will love this place and really want to come home to it everyday!

Overall:
The villa was amazing! The space was larger than anticipated and very nicely furnished. We were very comfortable and always looked forward to returning to our "home" in Provence after a day of travel.
Enjoyed Most:
The back courtyard was beautiful, peaceful, and very spacious making it ideal for relaxing or having a meal. There were three separate dining areas and flowers throughout the courtyard. We also liked the location of the villa which was very convenient to local shops so we could walk to the food market and bakeries. The kitchen was very well equipped with state of the art appliances.
Enjoyed Least:
Only having one shower made it a little inconvenient with four people. The bathroom with the tub was very large, but because there was no shower curtain or way to hang the hand shower, no one took a shower there.
Surrounding Area:
We loved the small villages filled with history that were an easy day drive from the villa. Our cruise around the bay at the Marseille port was beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The villa is in the heart of the historic area of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon, so shops and restaurants were just minutes away.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa was very well equipped, so we did not need to bring anything extra. The key holder, Madame Roux, had provided food and drinks in case we arrived too late to buy groceries that day and even placed fresh flowers in the living room. There are several good restaurants within a five minute walk from the villa. We ate at AOC and La Salamandre.
Directions:
Finding the correct bridge was a little difficult after leaving the train station. Once you get across the river, finding the villa was pretty easy. I strongly recommend using a GPS. We finally got our unit working properly about 100 yards from the villa!

Madame Roux was very accessible for both arrival and departure. She was most gracious and helpful with suggestions on where to shop and eat.

Enjoyed Most:
I loved the courtyard. We spent many evenings relaxing with a bottle of wine outside. The living room is spacious and relaxing with huge windows and wonderful views.
Enjoyed Least:
Only one bathroom had a bathtub, the other bathroom was so tiny I don't think a very large person would be comfortable in it. It can be warm in summer, and there is no air conditioning.
Surrounding Area:
There are wonderful restaurants all within walking distance. Avignon is just across the river and all of the wonderful sights of Provence are only hours away. The Fort and the Abbey in Villenueve are within walking distance and are very interesting.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Villenueve is right outside your door. Everything you could need is in within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring paper napkins and ziplock bags so you can pack up picnics for day trips. We brought a soft cooler as a carry on and then used that throughout the trip for picnics.
Go down to the square for two good restaurants - one is called Maison and is very good. The other is right next to it and the proprietor places his tables outside in the alley. We loved it so much, we ate there twice!

Enjoyed Most:
The location was wonderful. The Aubergine restaurant down the street is not to be missed. The accommodations are even better than the picture you provided. The owner is charming. There was food in the refrigerator.
Enjoyed Least:
There are cats, which some of us were allergic to.
Surrounding Area:
It was the old city outside the walled city of Avignon. It was lovely in itself and very central to all of Provence.

Avignon, Yes.
Tips or Restaurants:
Aubergines - Just down the street. The food was as good as the best restaurants in Paris. The chef has won awards, gave our teenage friend a cooking class and charmed us all. On top of all that he speaks perfect English.
