Customer Reviews

Overall:
The best of the best! After spending 5 weeks in Italy at 5 different properties, this one is rated "The Best". Not only is the apartment fantastic but the owner was most accommodating. In addition to good recommendations on restaurant and the area, they assisted us in renting a boat and made every detail perfect.
Enjoyed Most:
Views and amenities were top notch!
Surrounding Area:
The sheer beauty of the village was fabulous, friendliness of the people and peaceful accommodations with every possibly need met.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Portovenere. We walked to to the town every day and enjoyed the route.
Tips or Restaurants:
Mosquito spray may be helpful. The restaurant recommended by the owner and the Atlantic Bar and Pizzeria were excellent. We will never forget the Fresh Pasta with Langostino with White Truffle Sauce from Trattoria La Chiglia and our waiter Giovanni, as long as we live! It was that memorable!
Check In Out:
Everything worked perfectly.

Overall:
Very nice, excellent location.
Enjoyed Most:
Location. Away from the busy Cinque Terre area, but close enough to enjoy it. Also liked the town of Portovenere. It was less commercial and has a good Italian feel.
Enjoyed Least:
The parking of the rental car. Tight spot, took 15 mins to park. Very tight, steep road but close to center of town.
Surrounding Area:
Very quaint and beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
5 min walk to town of Portovenere
Tips or Restaurants:
All decent restaurants. The villa was very nicely furnished with most everything. She even had a bottle of chilled Prosecco in the frig!!
Directions:
Definitely need a GPS with English language. Tricky but useful. Very easy to catch a bus, ferry, or taxi to La Spezia to take train anywhere.
Check In Out:
Security deposit of 650 is due in cash (Euros) upon arrival; be prepared. We received 500 back on departure; 150 was retained for cleaning.

Overall:
Beautiful area and lovely apartment. Good interaction with residential contacts.
Enjoyed Most:
Great view within very easy walking distance of ferry to Cirque Terre, grocery, restaurants, etc. Apartment was extremely well furnished.
Enjoyed Least:
No complaints. No hot water at outset, contacted property owners, was fixed almost immediately (breaker had tripped).
Surrounding Area:
Access to Cinque Terre. Portovenere was lovely as well.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Portovenere - right within the area with short walk to 'tourist' area.
Tips or Restaurants:
Apartment was so well furnished, little was lacking. Fully stocked with all necessary items on our arrival, including soap, TP, etc. Even included a beach towel!
Directions:
Driving could be an extreme adventure. Train access and then taxi was quick and efficient. Easy bus ride with convenient timing to train station for day trips. Cinzia met us outside apartment at move-in to ensure taxi driver was clear on access to apartment complex. She came to apt to check us out and called a taxi for us.

Overall:
It was very good. The apartment was exactly as it was shown on the web site. It was very clean and had all the supplies and amenities we needed. While the street was noisier than we had anticipated, it didn't diminish our experience.
Enjoyed Most:
It was in a great location.
Enjoyed Least:
The street noise.
Surrounding Area:
There were many shops, restaurants, and crafts people close by.
Tips or Restaurants:
I think the apartment had everything we needed. One interesting restaurant we found was Cuculia, which is just a few blocks up the street. It had an interesting mix of vegan/vegetarian dishes as well as meat/fowl. And everything was very fresh. Service, however, can be a bit "quirky."
Directions:
The apartment was very easy to find, however, clearer directions for using the washing machine and the dishwasher (e.g., need to push the ECO button) would have been helpful.

Place was beautiful and well kept. Was a very restful location.
Enjoyed Most:
Windows open to let breezes blow through and very comfortable.
Surrounding Area:
Very quaint village and historic castle and churches. Beauty of Poet's Gulf.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Portovenere; yes, it's within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Miramare was the best restaurant in town. Made you feel like family.
Directions:
We did use GPS but the road to apartment was not on it. Small uphill local road and no signs. We called the property manager fo assistance.
Check In Out:
Beautiful family in charge of apartment. Very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed getting to know and visit with them.
