Overall:
Fabulous, wonderful, relaxing! The historic house is a treasure. The pool and beautiful garden made our time at Villa Naoussa memorable for my whole family (me, my husband, my 8 year old and 4 year old sons, and my mother!)
Enjoyed Most:
The location of the house, in the midst of this historic and traditional village, plus the private pool and garden make this house perfect.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The ladder-like staircase requires some additional vigilance, but it's worth it.
Surrounding Area:
The food! We ate a lot of grilled octopus, and white anchovies, and squid... local cheese and eggplant...the village itself is beautiful and vibrant.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Yes, we were in the town, which makes this house special.
Tips or Restaurants:
Prior comments mention the noise of the surrounding village, but we did not experience any unpleasant noise. It was hot and we paid for the air-conditioning, so the windows were closed, so I recommend if noise is an issue for you pay for the air-conditioning (Frankly, I was looking forward to hearing the hustle and bustle of the town through the windows... but it was too hot when we arrived not to have the air-conditioning!) We bought beach towels and sand toys when we arrived, but brought floaties for the pool.
Directions:
The key holders/owners met us in the town square. It could not have been eaiser.
Check In Out:
It was so nice to be greeted by the owners of the property. They are very proud of their home and they should be. They provided us with all the information we needed about the house and where to buy groceries. And we arrived late on a Saturday, so they even stocked our kitchen with some food to get us started because most shops were closed Sunday morning. It was very thoughtful of them.

Overall:
It was without question the best time we have ever had, and we have rented villas in many countries. Loved the town, the house, the garden, the pool. I want to go back tomorrow. Wish it weren't so very far from New York and so hard to get to.
Enjoyed Most:
The garden, the pool, and the location right in the middle of the town, but secluded.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The kitchen is poorly equipped, but that saved me from wanting to cook. Odd set up for hot water, but we learned to take cold showers. Dishwasher was a mystery. Maybe because of no hot water. Laundry facility okay, but I would not count on doing a lot of laundry. Editor's Note: The owner has replied that for hot water, you press the switch to have hot water within 10 minutes. For the dishwasher, you select the temperature and press ON. He will prepare written instructions for the villa.
Surrounding Area:
Love the town, everything about it, and the boats to the beaches were the best. The beaches themslever were so beautiful, so European with their amenities. The crystal clear blue water was shallow enough so that my 3 year old granddaughter could safely spend all day in the water - when she wasn't in the pool at the house!
Tips or Restaurants:
We brought down pillows and cases for all the beds, and left them there. Bought beach towels and also left them. You need a clock. Spotty CD player The restaurants abound and all were excellent.

Overall:
A fantastic experience - it was so delightful to live for a week in a small village.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, the fabulous courtyard.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Some outside noises at night.
Surrounding Area:
It was a typical Greek village which only seemed to get crowded with visitors after 6:00pm. The island was beautiful, very uncrowded.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Naoussa was right outside the door - the walled villa is in the center of the village.
Tips or Restaurants:
Two great restaurants - the Romantica is at the end of the alley next to the courtyard, take a right and 1st left. The Taverna Mistral is right beyond the Romantica - both fantastic family-run restaurants specializing in local Greek cuisine.
