- Exterior Description
This palazzo dates back to the 15th century, when the banks of the Arno River were flanked by palazzi (palaces) belonging to patrician families such as the Bardis. The edifice was modified over the centuries until the mid-19th century, when a famous architect, Enrico Poggi, endeavored to transform Florence into a capital city. He modeled the palazzo after the Lungarno Torrigiani area in order to maintain the classical renaissance color palette of cream plaster and gray “pietra serena” stone, which is visible in so many buildings throughout the city. A daytime doorman is available and each apartment is made secure with a bell and a buzzer.

Overall:
We had a fantastic time in Florence and the apartment was excellent. The house book provided all the information we needed to make our stay perfect. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer!
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the location and the view. The Ponte Vecchio and the heart of Florence was only a short walk.
Enjoyed Least:
Traffic noise at night, but with ear plugs everyone slept fine.
Surrounding Area:
Nothing like having the Pitti Palace in your back yard and the Uffizi and all the beautiful historic building in your front yard. There were many excellent restaurants an easy walk from the apartment. We tried a different one every day.
Tips or Restaurants:
Future renters should be aware they are in the busy part of Florence and will have the associated noise. Ear plugs are necessary for light sleepers.
The only way to get around the center of town is on foot, so bring good walking shoes.
Check In Out:
The staff was very accommodating and flexible about the check out process. We had scheduled a tour on their last working day of our stay and they kindly came at a time convenient to us.

Management team was very helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
The view! Also, the size of the place.
Enjoyed Least:
The noise on the back street. The property manager should leave a note about the dryer. It will not run if the canister is full of water....
Surrounding Area:
Every single thing! Florence is awesome!!! Well worth the trip! Scenery, museums, markets, churches the best, nothing can compare!
Check In Out:
Very simple!
