Customer Reviews
Overall:
Very pleasant. Barbara met at the door at the appointed time, showed us around the suite, and left us her number in case we needed anything. The suite was as promised, and suited our needs perfectly.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, 2 blocks from the Campo, made it ideal for slipping back during the day for a rest, or to drop off any purchases.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The only suggestion for improvement is internet access. I had my laptop, and being able to have access would have helped a lot.
Surrounding Area:
The location was close to everything we wanted to see, yet was quiet.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We did get to use the local buses for a couple of out of town visits.
Tips or Restaurants:
We took a cooking class, at the Scola di Cucina di Lella (they have a web site). Excellent, modern kitchen, relatively small group, fantastic meals and tips.
Directions:
Took a taxi from the train station, and had no problems.
Check In Out:
Barbara met us there at the agreed time, and the manager met us there for checkout. Both were on time and very pleasant.

Overall:
Being inside the city walls is the best way to experience Siena. This place was only two short blocks from the Piazza del Campo. We could walk anywhere very quickly.
Enjoyed Most:
Location and view. This apartment was incredibly convenient to everything Siena has to offer.
Unpleasant Surprises:
We were not able to get the washing machine to work.
Surrounding Area:
Small wineries in the Chianti area.
Tips or Restaurants:
We found a lovely restaurant at 29 Piazza del Campo named La Mossa. La Tour right off the Piazza is also fabulous. Be sure to spend Saturday in the Piazza...the farmers market and crafts are amazing.
Directions:
We took a taxi from the train station.
Check In Out:
The deposit for utilities and cleaning has to be paid in cash.

Overall:
We lived in Sassofono for 7 weeks and loved every minute of it. The apartment is about a 2 minute walk to the Campo, but it is also on the outside of Siena so every window in the apartment has views of the Tuscan hills.
The apartment was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and the view.
Unpleasant Surprises:
White coaches and slip covers, though pretty to look at, are a bit nerve wracking in a tomato-sauce country.
Surrounding Area:
Siena is a fabulous city. Completely safe and easy to navigate on foot. My kids, 10 and 7, could roam around on their own -- getting treats from the bakery and gelateria -- without any worries.
Tips or Restaurants:
Too many to list here...
Directions:
You will most likely need to take a cab to the apartment. If you are not a full-time resident, you cannot bring your car inside the city walls. And, parking just outside the city is very expensive, about 60 per day. So, go car-less while in Siena and enjoy exploring on foot.
