This Tuscan apartment is situated in the hills of Arezzo within a 1 km walk (a narrow paved road with little traffic which leads to a park path into town) to the town center. Spread out over 10 hectares and enclosed within a historic park, this villa has great opportunities for nature walks, jogging and mountain biking. Once one of the most important Etruscan cities, today Arezzo is beautiful for an array of architecture spanning centuries, from Etruscan ruins to the Roman amphitheatre and the Medici Fortress. The first weekend of each month brings a popular antique fair, while annually there is a festival called "Joust of the Saracens," where all of the citizens dress in medieval attire and knights representing each part of the city charge at a target representing a Saracen king. Arezzo also offers a wide variety of shops; literary cafes, clothing boutiques, restaurants, antique shops and is among the principal producers of fine jewelry. Football (American soccer) matches are played on Sunday afternoon at Arezzo’s nearby stadium. Arezzo is strategically positioned for day trips to cities of art such as Cortona, Siena, Perugia and Florence. The train station is located southwest of the old city walls. Siena is one of Italy's most beautiful cities, filled with art, history, and traditions. Explore the art and monuments in the Museo Civico, Il Duomo, Il Battistero, the Museo Archeologico Nazionale Etrusco - the list is endless. Siena is also just a few miles away from the wine producing regions of Chianti and Montalcino, and from the historic town of San Gimignano.
