- About The Experience
- This apartment is situated on the top floor of an ancient palace (that dates back to the 12th century) in the middle of Amalfi’s historical center! That means there will be restaurants, shops, and activities right at your doorstep. Even more, it’s within walking distance to the beach, which you can see from this vacation rental for a small family.
- Location Description
The property is located in the historical center of Amalfi and is only 50 meters from the sea and beach. Amalfi is a town that dates back to the 6th century and was once an important trading center with historical and medieval architecture throughout the town. The main sites include the Duomo, the cathedral of Sant' Andrea, which dates back to the 11th century, and the Cloister of Paradise. There is also a museum dedicated to the works of Morelli and a museum where you can view artifacts of Amalfi's long and interesting history. If course you’ll also find a good selection of shops, restaurants, and markets, as well as a pharmacy and post office. During the summer months, there are daily ferries leaving from Amalfi to Capri, Positano, Sorrento, and Naples, although there are always buses connecting the towns along the Amalfi Coast. It is best to rely on public transportation, since parking is difficult to find and is expensive.

Customer Reviews
Overall:
Modern, clean, attractive, views are lovely, authentic, historic, felt like part of local community.
Enjoyed Least:
Stairs are overwhelming, especially with suitcases. There was a problem with the hot water heater, so we had to resort to keeping it turned off unless we needed hot water. Hit our heads on sloped ceilings in bedrooms. Editor's Note: The hot water heater has been replaced. October 2011.
Surrounding Area:
Amalfi lovely, especially in the hills above. Entire cost beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Behind Amalfi, went to Pontone, Ravello, and on coast to Positano. All wonderful. Amalfi itself, nice, though too full of tourists in season.
Tips or Restaurants:
Walk past old paper mill museum to see ruins of papermills and lemon orchards. See views from Ravello. Take boat to Positano.
