It’s all about being in a lovely setting, walking distance to a small town, and close enough to Florence to take a bus in for the morning or afternoon… You can walk to town to pick up groceries for dinner, or cappuccino for breakfast with the locals, or a bus into Florence. What could be better? Of course, you may just prefer to sit outside and enjoy the countryside air. What could be better?

Location Description

The property is located in Settignano, which is a picturesque neighborhood on a hillside northeast of Florence. It has spectacular views and is the birthplace to three main sculptors of the Florentine Renaissance: Desiderio da Settignano, Bernando and Antonio Rossellino. The young Michelangelo lived there in a farmhouse that is now the “Villa Michelangelo”. The historic center of Florence is 6.7 Km away and can be reached by bus in 15 minutes. By walking up and down hill on a paved (and not very busy) road, you can reach the small village of Settignano, which has a few shops, bars and grocery store. The bus stop is in the main square of Settignano. The A-1 Autostrada is 10 minutes away so many popular destinations such as Siena, Chianti, Lucca, and Pisa are within driving distance.

Exterior Description

This gated property of 1.5 hectares is surrounded by olive and fruit trees and offers a stunning view over Florence. The gated property is accessed by a paved road. Inside are three separate units (Settignano 1, 2, 3) with independent entrances for each. They have all been renovated and elegantly furnished by a well know interior designer. There is a swimming pool (14m x 7m) with sun loungers. The grounds are landscaped with flowers and herbs. Each house has a lovely outdoor space to relax or dine al fresco. Each unit has an outdoor parking lot in the garden area and can accommodate one or two cars.

Interior Description

(48m2) Settignano 1 (Sleeps 2)
This charming apartment is located in the same building where the owner resides. It is completely private from the owner and has its own separate entrance.
Ground Floor: The bedroom is on the lower level and has a king-size (180 cm mattress) bed. There is a walk in closet and an ensuite bathroom with shower.
First Floor: The living room has a fireplace and a kitchenette. The kitchenette has views towards the garden and towards Settignano 2. It has access to the outside area that has been furnished with garden furniture.

(80m2) Settignano 2 (Sleeps 4)
This unit has a spacious living room with TV and fireplace. It also has a fully equipped kitchen area and dining area that access an elegantly furnished patio. The patio has both a sitting area and a dining table. It is about 15 meters from another building. The unit has two double bedrooms. One bedroom has a large king (200 cm mattress) that can be converted into two twin-beds. It has an ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower head. It also has a walk-in closet. The other bedroom has a king-size (180 cm mattress) bed with a ensuite bathroom with large rain shower. The unit also has a small laundry room with washing machine and room for storage.

All of the bedrooms have French doors that lead to the private garden.
Ground Floor: There are two bedrooms on the ground floor. The first bedroom has a king-size (180 cm mattress) that can be converted into two twin-beds. It has an ensuite bathroom with separate large shower and bathtub. It also has a walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a large queen-size (170 cm mattress) that can be converted into two 85cm twin-beds. It has an ensuite bathroom with separate large shower. It also has a walk-in closet and a safe box.
First Floor: The first floor has a spacious living room with TV and fireplace. There is a fully equipped kitchen and dining area and access to a comfortable outside sitting area with a table for al fresco dining. There is also a bedroom upstairs with a 4 poster large queen (170 cm mattress) bed and ensuite bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. It has a fireplace, a view of Florence and a walk-in closet.
