Overall:
The villa was FANTASTIC!!! The view was breathtaking. The property was tremendous. Everyone in our group praised me for finding such a wonderful villa. The sunsets were gorgeous.
Enjoyed Most:
The view--a two million Euro view!
Unpleasant Surprises:
Didn't like that we saw 2 snakes.
Surrounding Area:
We loved visiting the nearby hill towns. We liked the convenience of the train station. We took the train to Florence, instead of driving to the city.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest was Terontola. It was not within walking distance, since the villa was perched high on a hill at the end of a 3 km single lane dirt road.
Tips or Restaurants:
I highly recommend hiring the cook to make a typical Tuscan dinner at the villa. It was outstanding. We ate outside and watched another beautiful Tuscan sunset.
Directions:
The directions from Venice to Terontola were good. Once in Terontola, we needed to follow the owner up the dirt road. It would be impossible to find it the first time without her help.

Overall:
Enjoyed our stay and opportunity to tour several hill towns in the area. The food was to die for.
Enjoyed Most:
View was outstanding and got several great shots of fabulous sunsets. The house is situated on a large hill overlooking the small town of Torontola and we could hear the church bell ringing. The vinelard and olive trees added much.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Villa is very isolated and is 2 miles from town on a dirt road, so dust makes car look terrible. View makes up for this problem!
Surrounding Area:
All hill towns were charming. Closest place to us was Castiglione del Lago with lots of nice shops and a restuarant on the main street with outside seating. Cortona, Pienza and Arezzo were favorites.
Tips or Restaurants:
We brought coffee with us and this worked out well since we could begin the day with a cup. The house has an espresso maker but we just used our regular coffee and it was good. The Osteria del Teatro in Cortona is an exellent restuarant, but our favorite in this area was La Buca di Enea in Pienza, a 7-table place with an owner that treats you as part of the family. Had wild boar for 1st time and man, was it good. Order his special.
Directions:
Because of the isolated location we got lost the first night trying to get back but a nice lady got us in the right direction. House has automated outside lighting and is the only house on top of the hill so after realizing this we found it from then on. Did not use GPS but cell phone was very handy arranging 3 vineyard visits.
Check In Out:
Good thing the local agent's daughter took us to the villa to meet the owner. No way we would have ever found it.

Overall:
We had a very nice stay. I think the house was more than big enough for us. The owner was really sweet and came to clean the pool everyday.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the view.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Didn't like the sheets. A featherbed would have done wonders for the beds.
Surrounding Area:
We loved the nearest hilltown, Cortona. It was so close and really quaint.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Terontola was the nearest town, but you cannot walk to it.
Tips or Restaurants:
We loved La Loggetta in Cortona for dinner as it overlooks the square with a wonderful breeze.
Directions:
I recommend that you let people know that the property is on top of a huge hill with a one-lane dirt and gravel road.
