This villa in Lombardy is just a short stroll from scenic Lake Como and a small beach on its shore. It’s a convenient base from which to explore the picturesque towns, dramatic mountain vistas, and pristine lakes of Northern Italy and nearby Switzerland (such as the city of Lugano).

About The Experience

This villa is located near scenic Lake Como, in the tranquil hillside village of Tosnacco. A few steps from the villa, there is a food shop and a restaurant. Down the hill in neighboring Moltrasio, you can walk to a small private beach (which has an entrance fee), as well as shops, a bank, a post office, and a church. There are trails with great views of the lake leading up the hillside to the towns of Cernobbio and Laglio. The surrounding area is dotted with ancient villages, gardens, and historic aristocratic residences, which you can visit by a boat taxi. The town of Como is only a few minutes away by car, and has an old city surrounding by medieval walls. You can also visit the only island in Lake Como, Isola Comacina, and have dinner at its restaurant Locanda dell’isola.

Exterior Description

This recently refurbished, 3-level villa has views of Lake Como in its garden and outdoor areas. There is a barbeque, a small garden, and a furnished terrace for al fresco dining that has lovely views of the lake. A narrow cobblestone street leads to the villa from the main road. Guests must leave their cars in the garage by the main road and walk the 150 meters to the villa, which can be slippery when wet, so this villa is not recommended for adults with mobility problems or young children.

Interior Description

(180 m2)
Ground floor: This floor has an open floor plan. There is a living room with a satellite TV and a DVD player. There is also a dining area and a kitchen equipped with a oven, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher, and microwave. There is also a guest bathroom on this floor, with a toilet and sink.
First floor: Up a flight of 15 steps, this level has two bedrooms. The first has a queen-size bed (160 cm), and the second has narrow twin-beds (80 cm). There is a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet, and an additional room with a sofa bed (most comfortable for one).
Lower floor: Down 10 steps from the main level, there is a bedroom with a queen-size bed (!60 cm) and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub, sink, and toilet. There’s also a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer.

Please Note:

There is no car access right to the villa. To reach the villa, guests must leave cars in the garage and walk via a narrow cobblestone street (150 meters), which can be slippery when wet. This villa is not recommended for those with mobility problems or young children.

In the U.S. the standard size for twin-beds is 90 cm wide; therefore, beds of 80 cm wide are considered narrow, and may not be comfortable for adults.
