Whether you’re relaxing with a book and a glass of wine in the lovely garden, exploring the olive groves, or taking a dip in the private pool, this villa will offer you and your guests a multitude of choices for enjoying your stay in Tuscany. Set on top of a hill overlooking the countryside, you can gaze out on the beautiful Tuscan landscape from this villa’s covered portico and patio. It won’t be long, however, until the comfortable, tasteful interiors beckon you back inside to enjoy a fire under the wood beamed ceilings while dinner cooks in the oven. This classic villa is great for a family or a group of friends.

Location Description

This vacation villa is located at the top of a hill, and enjoys a fantastic location in the heart of Tuscany, within an hours' driving distance of all the main Tuscan art cities: Florence, Pistoia, Lucca, Pisa, and Versilia (Siena is 1.5 hours). The rental villa is only 10 minutes away from the Firenze/Mare motorway, making access to major routes easy. In the immediate area you can find a number of different leisurely activities, such as a beauty spa in Monsumano, three 18-hole golf courses, horseback riding, bowling, cooking and painting classes, and tours with cultural, artistic, gastronomic, and wine themes. The villa itself is located in an area of characteristic, natural Tuscan countryside. Within a range of fifteen or twenty minutes, one can reach the Giusti Grottoes with their hot thermal baths, the Monsummano caves, the Pistoia hills and mountains (with winter skiing), the Svizzera Pesciatina (ten medieval villages), innumerable Romantic churches, and the Fucecchio swamplands. You can find public transport (buses and taxis) down in Monsummano and the nearest train station is in Montecatini.

Exterior Description

This property is surrounded by 18 acres of olive groves (which give the villa its own oil). The stone villa itself is surrounded by a 3000 m2 garden where there is the private pool (8 x 16 m, open April to October) with overflow system and hydromassage. Closer to the kitchen is a barbeque area and a furnished veranda for al fresco dining. A paved road leads to the villa from the main road, and there is private parking for up to 5 cars on the grounds. The owners have another villa on the estate, listed on this site as Villa Alessandro, which is located in front of this villa; however, since the orientation of each villa is different, they are completely private from the other.

Interior Description

(350 m2/3,767 ft2)

Ground Floor: This floor is accessed via an entryway decorated with 17th and 18th century artworks. The eat-in kitchen has a fireplace and dishwasher, microwave, and Italian and American coffee machines. There is a dining room with table and chairs for up to 14 people, with a 14th century fireplace. There’s also another sitting room decorated with antiques from the 17th-19th centuries, which has chairs and couches, one of which is a couch bed (most comfortable for one). The eat-in kitchen, which has a table and 17th century chairs, a fireplace, 2 ovens, dishwasher, microwave, and an antique ceramic sink. There’s a bathroom decorated with antique tiles, with a Jacuzzi shower, sink, and toilet. This floor has a bedroom with a king-size bed (180 cm). There are two verandas on this floor for al fresco dining, and a laundry room near the kitchen with a washing machine.

Lower Floor: This floor has three bedrooms. The first has a king-size bed (180 cm) and an en suite bathroom with a Turkish bath/shower, sink, and toilet. The second bedroom has a king-size bed (180 cm). The third bedroom has twin-beds (85 cm) that can be joined together to form a queen-size bed upon prior request. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower, sink, Jacuzzi tub, and toilet.
