Fully-equipped and with a private pool, this villa is also within walking distance of the village Maussane-les-Alpilles.

Location Description

This villa is situated in a quiet and secluded location, just a short walk from the center of the vibrant village of Maussane in the heart of Les Alpilles. Due to the traditional method local growers use with their olive trees, Maussane-les-Alpilles is the number one producer of olive oil in France. Close by are both the hilltop village of Les Baux-de-Provence and the vibrant town of St Remy-de-Provence. St-Remy-de-Provence, a beautiful little city perhaps known for the Saint Paul de Mausole hospital, is where Vincent Van Gogh spent the last and most productive year of his life painting such masterpieces as "Starry Night," "Irises," and "Wheat Field with Cypresses." The town and the surrounding landscape inspired 150 paintings and sketches in all. Throughout its history St Remy has been a haven for artists, musicians, and writers (including Nostradamus!). Today it is alive with artists and traditions, faithfully passed on from one generation to the next.

Exterior Description

Set in gardens with a charming courtyard, this house has been stylishly decorated in a mixture of Provençal, oriental and contemporary design. The secluded garden is planted with Cyprus and palm trees and has a pool, several pleasant terraces and areas to sit and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. There is a private pool surrounded by the lawn. There is covered parking for two cars.

Interior Description

This house is decorated with beautiful photographs, artifacts and furniture. Ground floor: From the front entrance, is the large and bright living room painted in whites and greys and decorated with local and international items. The air conditioned living room, with under floor heating and a fireplace for the cooler months, has views across the well-designed gardens and terraces. The house has a large screen TV with satellite, a DVD player and Wi-Fi internet access. The fully equipped kitchen with a back kitchen for extra space has an American fridge, electric oven, gas oven, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine and microwave. The kitchen opens onto a terrace and garden furnished with a large wooden table. Heading upstairs from the living room, is the air conditioned master bedroom (41m²) with an en suite bathroom with shower, twin basins and a separate WC.
Lower level: Downstairs from the living room, a photo gallery (17m²) leads into an office with a large desk overlooking the terrace and pool. Bedroom one has a queen size bed (160cm), a ceiling fan, and en suite bathroom with shower, twin basins and a French window leading onto a small terrace. Bedroom two has a queen size (160cm) and an en suite bathroom with shower and separate WC.
First Floor: Upstairs is bedroom three with a queen size bed (160 cm), TV, ceiling fan, dressing room, an en suite bathroom with shower, twin basins and separate WC. The bedroom has a charming terrace overlooking the grounds.

• Two hours of daily housekeeping is included in the rent.
• While the villa does have four bedrooms, the owner does not want more than 6 adults renting the villa.
• Children 12 and under are not allowed.
