Perched on a hill above the Bay of Naples, Villa Duchessa, with its magnificent views and beautiful garden is an oasis of calm. It is wonderfully appointed for a large group, weddings and special events.

Location Description

Villa Duchessa is located on a hill that overlooks the Gulf of Naples with spectacular views of Naples, Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri. The recent renovation has restored it to its original splendor. A short drive away is the lovely seaside town of Sorrento, which is famous for its limoncello (an alcoholic aperitif) and inlaid wood – you can visit one of the workshops still in operation today to see this centuries-old craft in action. Other Sorrento attractions include the 10th century Basilica di San Antonio, which was built to honor the patron saint of navigators and still attracts sailors’ offerings to this day. The 11th century Cathedral houses frescoes and a bell tower with a ceramic clock. The "Sorrento Summer of Music" is also held at the cloisters from July to September, and features international musicians performing alongside of emerging talents. In addition, the train station, with frequent trains to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples, is located right in the center of town. The charming towns of the Amalfi coast, including Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello and the island of Capri make wonderful day trips.

Exterior Description

This elegant villa with beautiful views of the Bay of Naples, has recently been restored. Along with the large terraces and garden, there is also a large asymmetric swimming-pool (23mx14m) and an outdoor jacuzzi area. The ample terraces are furnished with deckchairs and umbrellas.

There is an elevator in the villa to access the First Floor and Lower Level.

Ground Floor: The entrance opens into a spacious living-room with fireplace and dining area. A large panoramic terrace overlooks the pool with 180 degrees views of the Gulf of Naples. There is also an office with telephone, fax and internet access. There are 3 guest bathrooms with toilet and sink, as well as a closet. The beautiful terrace is furnished with tables and chairs for outdoor dining.

First Floor: (accessed by 15 stairs or elevator) SUITE 1 has a sitting room, a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) and access to the terrace, and bathroom with whirlpool bathtub/shower, sinks and toilet; SUITE 2 has a small sitting room, a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm), bathroom with whirlpool bathtub/shower, sinks and toilet; SUITE 3 has a sitting room, a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) with access to the terrace, and bathroom with whirlpool bathtub, separate shower, sinks and toilet; SUITE 4 has a sitting room, a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) with access to the terrace, and bathroom with whirlpool bathtub, separate shower, sinks and toilet, SUITE 5 has a sitting room, a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) with access to the terrace, and bathroom with whirlpool bathtub/shower, sinks, toilet.

Lower Level: (accessed via elevator or the external courtyard) There is a professional kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven and toaster oven. The bedrooms include: There is a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) with small terrace and bathroom with shower, sink and toilet; SUITE 6 has a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) with access to a balcony, and a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub, separate shower, sinks and toilet; SUITES 7 and 8 each have a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) with access to a balcony, and a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub/shower, sink and toilet; there is another bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) with access to a balcony and a bathroom with bathtub/shower, sink and toilet. SUITE 9 has a sitting room with access to a balcony, a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm), and bathroom with whirlpool bathtub, shower, sink and toilet.

Annex: (accessed from the garden with 5 steps) Ground Floor: there is a small kitchen corner, a bedroom with queen-size bed (160cm) with access to the garden, studio/sitting area, and bathroom with whirlpool bathtub/shower, sink and toilet.

Features Description

Available Amenities: All of the bedrooms are equipped with flat screen TV air-conditioning, radio, fridge-bar, and high-speed internet connection. Wireless internet is available in the garden and around the pool (the use of internet is available by buying a card). There is air-conditioning in the living-rooms too. Laundry service is available on request at an extra cost.

Please Note:

• Housekeeping: Housekeeping is included for 5 hours per day, 6 days per week.
• Internet: Inside the house is by ADSL or WiFi. In order to use the Internet, clients must purchase an Internet card at the villa.
• There is an elevator in the villa to access the First Floor and Lower Level.
