LocationDescription
This short term apartment in Florence is located in a palazzo on the elegant Piazza Antinori in the Duomo district. The palazzo dates back to the 14th Century, a time when the city was just beginning to expand beyond the Roman central nucleus. At that time, Via Tornabuoni and Piazza Antinori were side streets leading towards the Florence city limits. It was only in the mid-15th Century that the location around this apartment rental in Florence became the address for wealthy Florentines who bought and refurbished palaces to turn them into stately homes.

Enjoyed Most:
It's location--very central.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The single beds were pretty narrow and uncomfortable. The washing machine was very small. No drier; clothes must be air dried. We did not get two sets of towels or linen. The internet modem is in a very incovenient place in the apartment. One had to sit on the arm of the sofa to be able to work on a computer.
Surrounding Area:
Everything was within walking distance shops, museums, etc.
Tips or Restaurants:
Try to arrive early and find a grocery store right away. To do laundry, go to the nearest laundromat. Bring lots of coins as the machines don't give you change and there are no employees on premises to make change.

Overall:
A great apartment that, with the killer views and central location, and top notch staff, is sure to generate many memories.
Enjoyed Most:
The views and patios to enjoy them were incredible, and the location was great. The on site staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. The apartment lacked for nothing.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The bedrooms were awkward in that there was only one 2-person bed behind a curtain in a hallway, and two single-person bedrooms. Also, the washing machine was, let's say, ineffective. I could see some persons not liking the funky layout but we loved it and thought it added unique character to the place.
Surrounding Area:
Great location with easy access to shops, sites and restaurants. It's hard to imagine a better location in Florence to be in the middle of everything.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The management arranged a driver and car to take us to Siena and San Gimignano for the day and it was wonderful. They arranged everything on short notice - a nice way to spend a day out of town.
Tips or Restaurants:
My first time in Florence during "high" season so I learned quickly to scope out restaurants and make reservations each night. Mosquitoes were a problem so windows had to stay shut, which was OK with the air conditioning.
Directions:
The management arranged a driver to pick us up at the airport - definitely the way to go.

Overall:
The staff in Italy are wonderful. they helped us whenever we needed it and were very accommodating.
Enjoyed Most:
The convenience to the city center. we could walk to most everything we wanted to see and do.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Too many stairs inside the apartment. It was difficult for us to keep an eye on our 2-year old and they would be difficult to navigate for anyone with walking problems.
Surrounding Area:
Tourist attractions, restaurants, shops.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Fiesole. not walkable, but an easy trip by bus.
Tips or Restaurants:
I Latini. interesting restaurant. Packed every night, so stop by early in the day when they hand out reservation cards so you don't have to wait in the street at night to get in.
