Location Description

Within a little hamlet, this gracious Tuscan retreat is tucked away in a beautiful area with lovely villas and a charming village – just south of the town of Lucca. The villa is within reach of many of the famous Tuscan hill towns, most within an hour's drive away.
Cinque Terre: 1.5 hours
Florence: 1 hour
Pisa: 30 minutes
Golf courses (Montecatini or Versilia): 30 minutes
Lucca: 10 minutes
Tennis and driving range: 5 minutes

Exterior Description

This property is an elegant 17th century Lucchese villa with its own chapel, olive oil press, and castle ruins. It is set in a vast estate of terraced olive groves and a ranch-style equestrian center. The villa has been home to several important families over the years. Beyond the camellia garden, with its curious fountain, lies the swimming pool, surrounded by lawns, fragrant lavender and terracotta pots of lemon trees. There is an outdoor barbecue area next to the loggia and a shaded petanque court. There are magnificent views over the Luccan hills, Nottolini's aqueduct, and the tree-lined avenue of the equestrian center. Lucca is 10 minutes away, while Pisa is 30 minutes away. Florence is a one-hour drive and the Cinque Terre can be reached in one and a half hours. Tennis facilities and a golf driving range are 5 minutes away. For a full 18 holes, experience Montecatini or Versilia, 30 minutes away. The house manager, who lives on the estate, provides a daily cleaning service eight hours a day, six days per week. There is a gardener who tends to the grounds and the swimming pool. Although not included, the services of a chef are available for lunch of dinner ($150 per day). Laundry service is also available for an extra charge.

Interior Description

Ground floor: The main entrance leads into a formal dining room and a salon with comfortable sofas and armchairs and a log fireplace. There is a TV lounge with satellite TV and video player (VCR plays European videos) and an office with telephone, fax, stereo, internet access and computer facilities. There is a fully equipped kitchen and two guest bathrooms. There is also a loggia facing the garden with a table and chairs for al fresco dining.
First floor: There are six bedrooms with kingsize beds (two twin-beds put together, which can be separated on request). Each bedroom has an ensuite bathrooms with tubs and showers. There is a central salon with comfortable sofas, armchairs, and satellite TV.
Second floor: There are five bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms with tubs and showers.

Features Description

Available amenities: individually controlled air conditioning in each room, telephone, fax, stereo, internet access, satellite TV, hairdryers in each bedroom. Outdoors: Flood-lit swimming pool with shower facilities, mountain bikes, barbecue area, table tennis, equestrian center (available for an extra cost), Petanque court, chapel (available for weddings), olive groves and woodland walks. Maid service is provided on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There will be a welcome basket with breakfast items such as tea, coffee, sugar, cereals, milk, butter, cheeses, fruit and fresh bread, as well as soft drinks and water.

Chef, cooking lessons, wine-tastings, additional/daily maid service, transfers, chauffeurs and guided tours, itinerary planning and a concierge service: available on request.
