This two level, very comfortable apartment is located in the sestiere of Cannaregio, in a quiet little alley, right behind Campo SS. Apostoli, and no more than 2 minutes from the boat stop “Ca' D'Oro”. The location makes it possible to reach all the most important sights of Venice in less than 10 minutes: Ca' D'Oro and it's marvellous museum, the Rialto bridge and the famous fish and vegetable market, and of course S. Marco's Square and the amazing basilica.
Venice is one of the oldest cities in Europe, with a unique layout and building style. Due to the aging of some of the buildings, as well as the infrastructure of the city, you may experience low water pressure and electricity outages, especially during the summer months.

Overall:
Great location. Loved feeling like a "local", and not a tourist!
Enjoyed Most:
We stayed inland - not on the water - and we really liked this, because we were in a neighborhood with Venetians. By the time we left we knew all of the streets of Venice.
Unpleasant Surprises:
When we hung out laundry out on the line outside, we lost some clothes when they blew off of the line... However, we really had no complaints about our experience.

Overall:
We would go back. The apartment is simply furnished, but comfortable and reasonably priced, and we liked the neighborhood. We didn't cook, but the kitchen was well equipped.
Enjoyed Most:
It's a short walk to St. Mark's and the Ca' D'Oro and the Fondamente Nuove from which you can go to Murano and Burano. If you don't want to walk the water bus stop is very close.
The air conditioning in the two bedrooms was a godsend and worked very well.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The rooms could be brighter. The shower is rather a tight squeeze if you are a tall or larger person.
Surrounding Area:
It's close to everything and has a neighborhood feel.
Tips or Restaurants:
There's a good supermarket not too far away on the Strada Nuova, so anything you might need you will find there. There is also a street market a little further away from the supermarket for fresher fruit and vegetables.
There's a good restaurant on the Fondamente Nuove right by the water bus stop that had killer fettuccine and lobster.
The Jewish Ghetto is a short walk away and was very interesting.
Directions:
If you are arriving by airplane, it's worth it to take the water taxi to the property. It's a little off the beaten tourist path. We called the agent from the taxi and she gave the driver directions and then met us at the landing stop. The apartment was a two minute walk from there.

The agents were there on time and very efficient.

Enjoyed Most:
It was wonderful. I arrived on Saturday, and the agent met me at the boat dock. She was very considerate. I had arrived in Venice on Friday, spending the night on Lido Island. We set a time to meet. The apartment was on a side street, just off the main boulevard. It was perfect for us. The rest of my party arrived on Sunday. The apartment was very clean and up-to-date. We did not encounter any problems. It was very nice having two separate bedrooms. About the only thing that would have been nice is more keys to the residence. There were 5 of us at the height: me, my girl friend, my daughter and her friend and my nephew, who came and went, It would have been nice to have more keys. Not really a big deal. Just took a bit of planning.
