Overall:
The villa was very nice, clean, well cared for and quiet. It comes fully equipped and is so comfortable there is little need to venture out. It is very close to excellent beaches.
We did not explore the area to any great extent as we just needed a restful place with no demands on time.
Enjoyed Most:
The outdoor deck, pool and ground floor and its quiet area. It gave you good privacy.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Multitude of circular stairs. There is no washroom on the floor which you spend most of your time. Just a note for elderly people as these are marble and have the potential of being slippery if wet.
Surrounding Area:
The local beaches were good but parking is always a challenge.
Nearby Events or Locales:
El Campello is accessible by local train at a station that is within walking distance - but down 132 stone stairs.
Tips or Restaurants:
The best restaurants were 30 to 40 minutes drive away in Denia. The villa could use a house book with:
a. Information on security security codes, passwords use of the safe
b. Layout and use of lights
c. Instructions of use of the BBQ and washing machine, stereo system, TV, DVD player etc....
d. Data or information on the local area restaurants, grocery stores, train schedules. There is insufficient time to discover good restaurants.
e. Local and emergency contact numbers
f. Policy details - checking in and out, times, resolving additional costs. None of this was an issue.
Directions:
Had a GPS receiver which does not have the the address specified because the villa is new.

Overall:
The online photos do not do this property justice....it is spectacular. The people who manage the house were the perfect ambassadors for Spain - incredibly nice and helpful and made our trip even better.
Enjoyed Most:
Difficult to pick a favorite but we spent a lot of time in the pool taking in the spectacular view. The lush gardens featured a terrace perched above the house ideal for cocktail hour and watching the sun set on the castle in Alicante. We also enjoyed meeting the property manager, who was full of good humor and local knowledge and the ever-smiling Natalie who created four delicious meals for our hungry group.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Packing on the last day...we didn't want to leave!
Surrounding Area:
Alicante is a nice city...lots of good restaurants, sites, architecture. Walk up to the castle; it's steep but you'll need to work off your vacation food! The AP-7 is very close so we were also able to do some nice day trips up to Valencia, Altea, some mountain towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
El Campello - not within walking distance but a very short drive or jump on the small train which also takes you into Alicante or to any of the coastal towns north to Denia. The train stop is within walking distance from the house some steep stairs are involved. As you will read in any guide book of the area, there is a lot of uncontrolled development. That said, you can find sections of many of the towns that are charming and offer a glimpse of the old and historic Spain.
Tips or Restaurants:
Hire Natalie to prepare some of your dinners or lunches. After a day of sightseeing or swimming, it's nice not to have to find a restaurant and instead enjoy Natalie, her cuisine and service. Ask the property manager about the restaurants...he is a foodie and recommended some outstanding choices. At the port in Alicante you can charter a sail boat with a captain...we sailed out to Tabarca, had a wonderful lunch, a swim and a nice sail home.
Check In Out:
Very easy....you just call the property manager on his cell phone and arrange a time to meet.

Overall:
The property manager Juan Carlos is very charming and helpful, he offered a lot of insights into the local area.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the view of the sea and Alicante skyline in the distance. The pool was very nice, not heated though. We had dinner out on the terrace every evening, the kitchen was nicely equipped although there was absolutely nothing in the pantry, so be sure to stock up! The bathrooms were very spacious and the air conditioning worked very well for warm days.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The beds were not very comfortable, the pillows were big decorative pillows and there were no sheets, just a duvet. The windows did not have screens like most homes in Europe so there were bugs at night, be aware.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area was a high end residential, but the town of El Campenello was a quick drive and Alicante was just a few minutes further. Alicante is very large city with everything you could possibly need.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you are looking for an out of the way country retreat this is not the place, the Spanish Costa Blanca is very developed and there are a lot of tourists, especially in Benidorm, which you should not even bother visiting.
Directions:
Be aware there are a lot of stairs to navigate, the main staircase is a spiral one with 64 steps top to bottom.

Be sure to call ahead with your arrival time.

Overall:
It is still very new and some small things are missing, but nothing which would spoil your holiday.
Enjoyed Most:
Pool and view.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The kitchen for more than 6 was a bit small.
Surrounding Area:
Not too close to Alicante, but still easy to access. Alicante is quite a nice Spanish city.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You need a car where ever you go.
Tips or Restaurants:
Use the outdoor grill. It is excellent!
