Overall:
The property was the perfect place to relax and unwind and a great place to take children. We would highly recommend it.
Enjoyed Most:
We really liked the enclosed garden and our toddler enjoyed playing with the toys and we all enjoyed the pool. The property was very comfortable and well equipped.
Surrounding Area:
The scenery was stunning. We thought Portovenere and Lerici were both beautiful towns and well worth a visit.
Nearby Events or Locales:
There were two shops within walking distance which sold all the essentials. They were closed in the afternoon but opened again at 5pm.
Tips or Restaurants:
Franchuskos restaurant the other side of Beverino was fairly basic but the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
Directions:
We met the property manager at an easy to find place and followed her to the property. Other members of our party were able to make their own way there without too much difficulty.

Overall:
It was a beautiful and fabulous house. The bedrooms was perfect, the pool was amazing and the surroundings were fantastic!
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the pool and outside eating area. We spent a lot of time outside.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Noises from the neighbors very early in the morning.
Surrounding Area:
It was easy to get to other places.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring toilet paper and ice trays.

Overall:
The owners were very helpful and accessible at all times. They even led us to a grocery store in La Spezia where we could stock up when we arrived. The owners have put together a very help guide in English for any possible need. There were a lot of helpful ideas for day trips. We definitely want to stay here again!
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the entire gated estate! To pick only a few things is difficult. We loved the decor, the outside dining area and the pool area the best. Our kids loved the games: ping pong, billiards table, etc. The maid service was excellent.
Unpleasant Surprises:
We couldn't get the cable TV to go past one channel but this was a minor concern. Fans for the upstairs area would help a lot in the summer months but this may be an electrical issue.
Surrounding Area:
We loved the church bells and the way the fog rolled in through the hills. It was the most beautiful area to be in. The access to the autostrada was very easy. It is centrally located for La Spezia, Cinque Terre, Genoa and Tuscany.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town is Beverino but the nearest town with a grocery store is La Spezia. Nothing is within walking distance but the drives are beautiful so you don't mind.
Tips or Restaurants:
The house is so well stocked; we weren't in need of a thing. We did have an excellent meal at a restaurant in La Spezia called Dino's. Don't miss taking a boat ride to Porto Venere or the train ride and the walking path in Cinque Terre.
Directions:
The owners led us to the property after they met us at the autostrada. Once we drove into town one or two times, we felt we knew our way around.

Overall:
The owners were spectacular. We had rental car issues, our children arriving at different times, and they drove us to the villa after taking us grocery shopping and going back to La Spezia to get our kids, and then taking us to town again to get our rental car- they were over the top with kindness. The property manager was a really big help in language and crisis management of our traumatic arrival.
Enjoyed Most:
The swimming pool and privacy the property had to offer. The time we spent at the villa was mostly outdoors, poolside or under the covered porch. That was very relaxing.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Location. It was located a ways out of town. We used it as a base to get to Cinque Terre and took the car to La Spezia daily to catch a train. The drive was 30-45 minutes each way along windy, hilly, narrow roads.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be prepared to drive a lot. It is a long way from anything- train, food shopping, any tourist activity. Don't expect a coffee maker that makes more than one cup at a time. Limited linens towels.
Check In Out:
The owners were terrific

Enjoyed Most:
The home was beautifully decorated, very clean, and wonderful amenities. The pool was terrific. Very private and secluded. The outside eating area was great for "al fresco" dining at night. Lovely. The hosts were very helpful, friendly, and didn't speak much English, but it was certainly better than our Italian!
Unpleasant Surprises:
It was a minimum 30 minute drive to destinations, which is probably more than we expected. But it was very peaceful, and we took advantage of having dinner brought to the home, so we could eat at home.
Surrounding Area:
Cinque Terre was fabulous, as was Portovenere. We also went to Santa Margherita near Portofino, which was terrific.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Yes, it is possible to walk to the town. We didn't do much of this. There are many walks to take in the surrounding areas, which were delightful in the early morning.
Tips or Restaurants:
We had some wonderful meals in Portovenere, and Cinque Terre.
Directions:
It was easy! The owners met us to show us the route.

Enjoyed Most:
The house is very elegant both inside and outside. The garden is big and well kept. The position of the pool made it easy not to lose sight of our young children. Furthermore, it is impossible for them to leave the terrain. These features made it possible to relax and have fun.
Unpleasant Surprises:
I can't think of anything.
Surrounding Area:
We made day-trips to the Cinque Terre, which is amazing - and to Pisa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Every morning we took the mountain bike to buy fresh bread at the small shop down the hill.

Overall:
The owners, couldn't have been nicer. Barbara had her homemade spaghetti sauce made for us, along with a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine for our first night's dinner. There was coffee, fresh fruit, fresh cut flowers and many other things stocked for our pleasure. There is a separate taverna that is stocked with wine if you want to buy any. I have rented 9 villas over the years, and I have never had a villa so well prepared and sensitive to what I might need. The cleaning lady came every other day and was a delight. Casa Elena is just fabulous!!
Enjoyed Most:
It was so large and peaceful. With 3 male children, ages 12-24, there was space to play wiffle ball, basketball, etc. The outside eating area was fabulous all day long. All the beautiful thought that went into the house was much appreciated by us.
Unpleasant Surprises:
One downside was the very small shower in the master bath. Another, but really very small annoyance, was when the gardener and workmen started banging away at 8:30 in the morning as we were all trying to sleep. Maybe they could come and do that stuff on Saturday. when people were leaving and packing up anyway.
Surrounding Area:
We loved going into town to get groceries. We were within about 30 minutes from Cinque Terre, Portofino, Portovenere, Santa Margherita. It was all very beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Benovino Sp? was a 10 minute walk and had a very good restaurant and a grocery store.
Tips or Restaurants:
Pinocchio is a fabulous place and I wish we had realized it earlier in our trip. It was great.

Overall:
Overall we loved this property - we did wish that we had worked harder to get friends to join us during our stay; it is a property that is great for multiple couples or families and friends.
Enjoyed Most:
Absolutely immaculate. Beautifully restored. The gardens and landscaping are lovely. The owners have made every attempt at creating a beautiful resort. The property manager, Sarah, was awesome and always accessible.
Unpleasant Surprises:
It is located among other residential properties with no consistent look. No restaurant or coffee shop within walking distance - would have been accessible by bike but would require some pretty steep hills. Because it was just me and my two children, it was a little too dark and quiet at night - they were a bit scared and ended up sleeping in my bed several nights! Electrical issues made the power go out several times which was a bit frustrating.
Surrounding Area:
Accessible to the Cinque Terre, including La Spezia and PonteVenere. We got to see a lot of the Italian Riviera while staying in a beautiful countryside property.
Tips or Restaurants:
We ate at Claudia's Restaurant, about 10 minutes away by car, 3 nights in a row, and my children still miss it! We were the only English-speaking guests each night. Very good food and affordable. Recommend that renters are aware of music and VCR system so that they could bring entertainment of their own. Definitely recommend getting help with cooking - it is a beautiful property to enjoy a home dinner, but be prepared to cook or be prepared to hire a cook during your stay. We do not speak any Italian, so it would have been very helpful to have more detail on how to turn on the security system at night while we were in the house, and also how to operate the washer - basic things that we struggled through.

Overall:
We very much enjoyed the villa. It was a peacceful and relaxing time. The owner and the local representative were very helpful and kind.
Enjoyed Most:
The house was beautiful as well as the garden. There was plenty of space for all of us. The ammenities were great for our two small children. The owners were very thoughtful to the needs of our children.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The electrical fuses blew if you had two or more main appliances running at one time. Some problems with the stove.
Surrounding Area:
The countryside was beautiful. It was very close to many main attractions and an easy drive to the main highways.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You could walk into Beverino.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you arrive on Saturday be sure to go to the market that day or you will be out of luck until Monday. Spices were minimal in the kitchen.

Enjoyed Most:
The owners were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. The owner even baked us a cake. The property was well-equipped, quiet with a lovely garden and pool, and beautifully decorated and thoughtfully designed.
Unpleasant Surprises:
nothing
Surrounding Area:
Visiting historic towns sugested by the owners.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We could walk or cycle to the nearest village which had a grocery shop and a good restaurant.
Tips or Restaurants:
Ask the owners to write down all the local information translated into English for restaurants etc, as they don't speak English.
