Overall:
We were travelling with our 10-month old son and the villa was very child friendly - they provided a crib and were very welcoming. It was quiet enough for him to take naps and sleep at night. But we did find ourselves confined some nights since its not an easy walk to town. But I do highly recommend this villa!
Enjoyed Most:
Good location - easy drive to several nice Tuscan towns as well as Siena and the Chianti region. The wine room with wine and olive oil from the winery at the villa was a nice treat!
Unpleasant Surprises:
Nothing bad to say.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia was the closest town - within walking distance but on a busy road so we didn't walk. Monteriggioni was the closest by car that was fun for lunches and gelato!
Tips or Restaurants:
Both restaurants in Monteriggioni were very good. We found the apartment pretty well stocked - toilet paper, sponges and soap. All fine. Bring extra towels for the pool.

Enjoyed Most:
Well many things, but the views would be one and the other that comes to mind was the feeling that it truly was our place. You almost felt as if you owned the property. None of the farm's workings ever intruded and any questions we had were answered without making us feel it was an imposition. One nice treat was the storeroom where you picked up wine, olive oil, and signed a book for what you took. Then paid at the end of your stay. A very easy way to taste the wines from their farm---which were good and very reasonable.
Unpleasant Surprises:
There were no negatives.
Surrounding Area:
There were many small towns and many hills towns within an easy drive.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia. While it was within walking distance, the return walk up the hill was prohibitive.
Tips or Restaurants:
Ask Claudia for tips on restaurants. She directed us to one in town for dinner our first night there. We would have returned but ran out of time. She also sent us to a great little osteria a few kms up the road for traditional breakfasts. The kitchen was well stocked, though one should bring plastic bags for food, and a bag for groceries. We also had an adaptor for our hair dryer and curling iron which was helpful.

Overall:
Great - would recommend to a friend!
Enjoyed Most:
The family who ran the villa were very hospitable and nice.
Unpleasant Surprises:
We had to ask for towels. No maid service - I guess we assumed that we would have some sort of maid service, but that is probably our wrong assumption.
Surrounding Area:
Great for daytripping. We went to San Gimignano, Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Siena, Porto Santo Stefano, Monteriggioni, Florence. So much to see and do.
Tips or Restaurants:
Loved Il Pozzo in Monteriggioni.

Enjoyed Most:
The setting was gorgeous. The property manager was friendly and gracious.
Unpleasant Surprises:
There were no screens on the windows of the suite we rented. It was sometimes noisy because of the people in the apartment above and around us.
Surrounding Area:
It was very central to Tuscany and Chianti. It was a beautiful area.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was Staggia. It was a little far to walk and the road was too narrow too safely walk there.
Tips or Restaurants:
The upstairs apartments have screens on the windows, so I recommend booking them. Our favorite restaurant was in Spaltenna at a church that was converted to a hotel and restaurant called Pieve de Spaltenna.

Enjoyed Most:
Location was very convenient to the Siena-Firenze Superstrada. Claudia was very helpful.
Unpleasant Surprises:
No screens on the windows. We thought that maybe screens were a luxury just not found in Tuscany until we noticed the upstairs units had them on their windows - that would be the ONLY thing we would change about our stay
Surrounding Area:
Great location - very picturesque.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia Senese - I wouldn't walk even though it was less than a mile - curvy roads.
Tips or Restaurants:
We loved La Corte del Goloso in the small town of Staggia. We went there 3 times during our visit. Bring or buy bath soap and if you can manage a small fan - we had great weather - and the bugs were not ferocious, but it was difficult to leave the window in the bedroom open all the time to maintain circulation.

Enjoyed Most:
The spacious and well decorated unit.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The living room didn't have comfortable chairs.
Surrounding Area:
The rolling hills and small towns of Tuscany are breathtaking.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia is within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely eat at the restaurant in Staggia - we had our best meal there!

Overall:
The owners of the propery were absolutely fabulous. They were extremely friendly, helpful with directions, and great fun to talk with!
Enjoyed Most:
The land was beautiful surrounding the villa. I loved the area that we stayed in because eveything was easily accessible. The various sitting areas around the property were wonderful for reading a book or having a candlelight dinner.
Surrounding Area:
We loved touring the wineries in the Chianti region. Siena was a 20-minute drive and had museums, shopping and some good restaurants. Florence was only a 35-minute drive and is home to some of the most famous pieces of art the world has to offer!
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was Poggibonsi and it was about 3 miles from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
Some wonderful restaurants:
Babette in Poggibonsi;
Dorarndo in San Gimignano;
La Fattoria in Tavernelle; and
Albergaccio in Castellina in Chianti.

Overall:
Everything about our stay far and away exceeded our expectations - we just can't wait to come back and stay again.
Enjoyed Most:
The fabulous view and the very friendly and helpful hosts - they were extremely patient and kind to our five-year old daughter
Unpleasant Surprises:
Nothing really - we had a fantastic time
Surrounding Area:
We tried to see as much of the surrounding area as we could - all the villages that we visited were very worthwhile and we also drove past Volterra to the Mediterrean Sea for the day. Although it was during the heatwave we really enjoyed it all - the views, atmosphere and the food were sensational.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia was the nearest town and it had a good supermarket and pizzeria and cafe. It was easy walking distance if we had wanted to, but since it was quite hot we did stick to the car.
Tips or Restaurants:
One thing that we did which was lots of fun was taking the bus to Florence - it was much easier than we had expected and we had a wonderful time exploring the city for the day.
