Overall:
From the moment we walked into Casa del Passero, this quaint farmhouse with its fantastic views held us captive. The surrounding towns with the friendly people, the miles of vineyards and sunflowers, the food, wine, and hospitality just amazed us. Although the language barrier was at times a challenge, we managed to always get the infomation we needed and left with a smile or laugh. The house was well equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable week. We loved everything about Casa del Passero.
Enjoyed Most:
The views, the views, the views! The house and its setup were great. The pool was amazing as was all the beautiful landscaping and flowers. We even used the outside pizza oven and made the most delicious smoked chicken dish filled with local ingrediants from the small Coop in town. What a treat! The outside furniture was great, the pool was beautiful and crystal clear and the kitchen well stocked for cooking.
Enjoyed Least:
There was really nothing about the property that we liked the least, only that we were not used to the harder beds and low level lighting.
Surrounding Area:
Everything! The views were especially gorgeous. Books, magazines, and television do not do Italy justice! Driving was an interesting experience. The roads were very hilly and windy. Those 90 degree hairpin turns were a challenge, especially with a manual transmission!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Piazza was the nearest town and was not within walking distance. We did have a rental, so we made many trips into town to buy groceries, gas, visit a few wineries and just walk around. The Thursday morning fresh market was wonderful and offered all that we needed for fresh ingrediants for cooking or eating. During our first couple of nights at the house, the local town was having some type of celebration with music, cooking, dancing etc. Unfortunately, we were so tired from our trip in that we did not have a chance to go into town to enjoy. We did however, enjoy the music they played as it filtered up through the hilltop and into our house.
Tips or Restaurants:
Rentvillas provided us with a comprehensive list of what to bring and we followed the advice. There were no mosquitos during our visit, so it was not necessary to have the plug in devices. A flashlight came in very handy as my husband and I took a walk to the pool during the evening and since there is no illumination along the path, a flashlight was needed. It was a beautiful walk amongst the lightning bugs and crickets. We did not have a chance to eat at any of the local restaurants as we enjoy cooking and mainly ate at the house.
Directions:
Directions to the property on our rental agreement were great. We also had GPS that guided us.
Check In Out:
The arrival process was a challenge, but our check out process went very smoothly. We needed to leave earlier than 9 AM on Saturday, so Pietra met up with us on Friday evening to check out the property and return our deposit.

We enjoyed it very much.
Enjoyed Most:
The piece and quiet.
Enjoyed Least:
The pool was too far away to be enjoyable.
Surrounding Area:
It was Tuscany, the beauty.
Tips or Restaurants:
The kitchen had more than we thought it would. They also provided hair dryers. The two restaurants in the town of Piazze were great.
Check In Out:
We had a very early check out and they came in the night before and were very nice to accommodate us.
