Overall:
With a view of the mediterranean and surrounding area, the experience was excellent!!
Enjoyed Most:
The location which provided the view. The property was ample size and adequate for four people. The sun room was ideal for enjoying the view, morning, noon or night.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The master bedroom needs updating bed, bedding, linens, etc. The washing machine did not work properly - the soap was not dispensing well. Editor's Note: The washing machine has been fixed. The bed linens will be replaced in the master bedroom.
Surrounding Area:
The view and convenience to the coastal towns was excellent. The villa owner provided an abundance of good area maps and reading material which we enjoyed in the sun room.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobrena is not within walking distance; a car is needed.
Tips or Restaurants:
Enjoy the view as much as you can!!
Directions:
Directions were excellent. We drove from Malaga to the hotel in Salobrena where we picked up the keys.

Overall:
It could very well become our home away from home. Well appointed, views out of this world, the weather is absolutely divine. Forget going to spas and spending a fortune, Las Posas in Salobrena and the Costa Tropical are the best kept secret for Rest and Relaxation and good times. We will be going back, and that's a promise!
Enjoyed Most:
The view is out of this world. We loved the architecture and the layout of the property. It was a very comfortable home, everything was really functional. The owner had great reading material, a couple of big folders full of advice and suggestions to make their guests feel totally at home from day one, as well as a great number of articles that cover the area and all of Spain. The place was well taken care of and well stocked with what we needed when we arrived.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Nothing. We were alerted that mosquitoes were a big problem; however, we did not think so. We kept the small fan in our bedroom going at night and had no problem whatsoever.
Surrounding Area:
We put over 3500 km on our car. We went all over the immediate surroundings as well as further away. We visited Motril, Almunecar, Nerja, La Herradura, Granada, Toledo, Cordoba, Seville, Malaga, Marbella, Gibraltar and of course Madrid. We had fun on the beaches of Salobrena, Motril, Almunecar and our favorite was the balcony over Europe Beach right in Nerja.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Motril, La Herradura and Almunecar were close by.
Tips or Restaurants:
El Pinon restaurant right on Salobrena beach, on the side of a cliff, was awesome and the waiters/help were superb. We highly recommend it.
When renting a car if you plan to go tour get the smallest car you can rent; we had a Mercedes SUV A model and it was perfect to carry all our luggage and get us in those hard to get to places. A stick shift and diesel are helpful to maneuver the narrow and steep areas in and around Salobrena. Driving up to the old castle in the middle of town was a trip on its own. would highly recommend one park down and make the steep hill on foot. We found out that a lot of the old city parts in any of the larger towns had extremely narrow streets that are quite hard to maneuver if you are not comfortable driving a stick shift.

Enjoyed Most:
The view and all the amenities.
Unpleasant Surprises:
We could not walk to the pool and could not use the hot tub.
Surrounding Area:
Salobreña was a delightful town and we could drive to other places with ease.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobreña and not within walking distance for us!
Tips or Restaurants:
We used all the suggestions of former renters!

Overall:
Very well equipped!
Enjoyed Most:
Both villa itself and the coastal view were just fantastic.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Quite a long drive to the coast and nearest town.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful sea and mountain scenery.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobrena - not walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring insect repellent. Unpleasant biting flies even in November.

Enjoyed Most:
The view was amazing. We were happily surprised to see the kitchen so well supplied. It was also great to have so many things available to make beach trips easy. The book, video and music selections also contributed to making our stay very agreeable.
Unpleasant Surprises:
I was disappointed not to be able to walk anywhere. I'm glad my husband was willing to deal with the hairpin curves to get to the house.
Surrounding Area:
The best day trip we took was to the Alpujarra. We also enjoyed the Nerja cave and, of course, the beaches.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobrena, a short drive away.
Tips or Restaurants:
The only thing they'll need is transformers for the electrical outlets. We enjoyed cooking, but there were tons of restaurant suggestions in an information booklet in the house.
Directions:
I didn't expect so many "exciting" curves to get there.
Check In Out:
It was inconvenient to go to the hotel to return the keys. We are used to leaving them on the property when renting similar accommodations.

Enjoyed Most:
The location and view are spectacular. I loved having several comfortable spots from which to gaze at the panorama. We also loved having access to a beautiful community pool. The house was extremely comfortable - not large, but with enough space and wonderful breezes. There is a nice outdoor dining set, but the owners could provide more comfortable chaise lounges for the outside.
Unpleasant Surprises:
We were sorry that the development we were in did not really foster walking. The distance from our house to the main road was quite substantial, along a long, winding road without sidewalks and not very safe for walking.
Surrounding Area:
The town of Salobrena is just the right size - enough cafes, stores, restaurants, and historic charm to be interesting, but not large and crowded like other resorts. It also felt very Spanish, not overwhelmed by foreigners. Unfortunately, we learned that massive development of hotels and thousands of new homes is just around the corner.
Having a Moorish castle in the town was very beautiful and cool.
We also loved having the mountains visible and so close by. We took an easy day-trip to Granada, across the mountains, which was fantastic.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobrena is nearby, but not within walking distance.
It has a beach that is pretty gravelly, and the water was filled with jelly fish when we were there, so swimming in the sea was pretty restricted, but the pool made up for that.
Tips or Restaurants:
The house did not come equipped with extra towels, so we bought beach towels pretty cheaply at the very large Walmart-type store in Motril. Otherwise, we found the house very well-equipped.
We ate twice at the Argentine steak house, which was very tasty and fun

Enjoyed Most:
The view and the fact that it was well prepared for visitors. Lots of detailed instructions for things and almost everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable.
Unpleasant Surprises:
It didn't have a pool on the property, but that's the only thing.
Surrounding Area:
The beaches, the food, the views...everything!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobrena...not within walking distance unless you're a serious athelete. Steep hill to climb up.
Tips or Restaurants:
Can't go wrong for restaurants in town. Things might look basic from the outside but they are very good.

Overall:
We stayed with our 6 month old daughter - perfect for our family! Please note: because of the amazing views, there are balconies that are not suitable for small children Very romantic for couples, as well.
Enjoyed Most:
The views of Salobrena from the property are breathtaking, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. The sun porch was a lovely place to sit with a drink and enjoy the views of the Mediterranean.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The living room furniture was not very comfortable for relaxing and watching a movie.
Surrounding Area:
The villa is about 1 hour from Granada and the Alhambra. The beach area near Salobrena is very nice as well.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobrena is the nearest town, and it is not within walking distance, but is only a short drive away - approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
Tips or Restaurants:
The Argentinian Steak House near the resort area of Salobrena is excellent.
