Customer Reviews

Overall:
It was a great apartment. It was quiet and the locaton was fantastic.
Enjoyed Most:
It was an excellent facility. The kitchen was great, the bathrooms were perfect. The location was great.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The only down side of the whole apt. was the beds were so hard that you got up sore in the morning. While that is about right for us grand parents the 11 and 13 year old said it was like sleeping on the floor.
Surrounding Area:
There was easy access to all of the main attractions. Everything was an easy walk. All of the facilities you need were available in the immediate area.
Directions:
Taxi from train station.
Check In Out:
The agent was terrific. A great orientation and she was avaialble if we needed anyhthing. Check out was very easy.

Enjoyed Most:
Location, overlooking Piazza Santa Croce. Please note that because of that we could not rate the property high in the peace and quiet category because the bedroom gets the sounds of the piazza until 2:00am. But that was fine with us; we left the window open a bit and enjoyed the white noise, it was not bothersome except for one night out of 14. The rest of the apartment is set back and is quiet, however.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The kitchen was very small and thus discouraged cooking any meals of more than one or two courses. It would be nice if there were more non-perishable cooking supplies like spices.
Surrounding Area:
The neighborhood is a nice combination of tourist interest and local hangout. It is a short walk 6-10 minutes to the main sights like Piazza Signoria and the Duomo, but the tourists thin out in the evening, and it is only a few block walk to areas primarily of locals e.g., Mercato San Ambrogio, across the river to the Oltrarno.
Tips or Restaurants:
Renters may need to buy some soaps or spices and we bought washcloths. Eating out is expensive; we probably would have liked to eat in more. For "breakfast", we enjoyed going to the bars Rifrullo - 6 minute walk in the Oltrarno at Via di San Niccolo and Via S. Miniato - a comfortable local hangout, few tourists, and Jolly Cafe 3-4 minutes, Via dei Neri. Both had nice pastries.
Directions:
It would be helpful to say that the palazzo is on the south side of the piazza.
