Customer Reviews

Overall:
The overall experience was very good.
Enjoyed Most:
The view.
Enjoyed Least:
Road noise.
Surrounding Area:
Everything - excellent.

Overall:
Wonderful. The location on the lake was outstanding. We enjoyed having morning coffee on the lake and taking sunrise pictures. The view was incredible. The house was comfortable and had all the conveniences. It would have been helpful to have written instructions on how to operate the washing machine. The location was convenient to Stresa via bus.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and size.
Enjoyed Least:
Road noise was a bit of a problem. The couple who had the roadside room took sleeping tablets since the noise was constant but unavoidable. I would recommend that people have ear plugs until they are used to the noise.
Surrounding Area:
Stresa and the islands were beautiful. Even my husband who I did not think was a museum-goer enjoyed the castles.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Perfect walk to the market, church and bakery.
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely pack ear plugs. As for restaurants within walking distance there is a hotel across the street that we used for Internet and late night espresso, as well as a pizzeria across the street.
Directions:
GPS not needed
Check In Out:
The owner was very accommodating since we actually arrived 3 hours earlier. She let us place our bags in the garden when we went to explore Meina. She was very helpful explaining the house.

Overall:
Excellent. Very relaxing.
Enjoyed Most:
The master bedroom window is perfectly sited for a beautiful view of the lake.
Enjoyed Least:
Car noise from the road gets a little old, but shouldn't be a problem for city dwellers.
Surrounding Area:
The Parma Restaurant just across the road was excellent--try the Bufalina cheese pizza!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Meina is within walking distance and has a food market that covers all the essentials.
Tips or Restaurants:
While the house uses very effective passive cooling techniques, understand that there's no air conditioning.
Directions:
Advise car renters to get a small car no bigger than an intermediate to more easily fit through the gate and into the driveway.

Overall:
Loved it-loved it-loved it!
Enjoyed Most:
Being able to swim and fish; being able to walk to the excellent alimentari to purchase food to prepare for dinner or even a pre-made dinner roasted chicken, interesting vegetable medleys; great central location to other points of interest; you could easily walk to a dinner location across the street or down the street; the pizzeria across the street is actually a hotel with a good restaurant.
Enjoyed Least:
Some street noise, but you stop hearing it after a while.
Surrounding Area:
The area is gorgeous - close to Stressa, a crazy drive to Bellagio, and don't EVER forget Lake Orta!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Meina was walking distance - leisurely 10 minutes - and had everything you might need.
Tips or Restaurants:
This villa had everything. We did purchase additional toilet paper, paper towels. If you are planning to do a lot of clothes washing - don't. It takes a long time and there are no driers. Coffee making is not like at home - you have to get the hang of their coffee makers and it is much stronger and you drink less than that full pot you are used to at home.
Directions:
It is not directly across from the pizzeria - you have to look at the numbers on the gates. The gates are kind of narrow and you have to watch out for traffic. You can also park across the street in an open parking lot which make it far less stressful getting in and out.
