Overall:
It was terrific. I loved the village of Positano and the quaintness of the villa. We had great fun there. Overall, the location and the friendliness of everyone made this a great experience.
Enjoyed Most:
I loved the view and the fact that the property was spread across 3 floors; it gave everyone separate space and it really was quiet between the floors. I loved the fact that there were patios off of each of the rooms. The location right in Positano was also fantastic - it provided easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, the beach and everything. The big bonus was that the key holder linked us up with a tour guide (Marco Predieri) who was absolutely fantastic.
Enjoyed Least:
There were two issues: lack of WiFi and the overly firm mattresses in the bedroom on the second floor and the top floor. For WiFi walked down the stairs (towards Positano) with our iPads to find a signal that was unlocked. The mattress in the main room was so firm that I had to put patio cushions on the mattress for comfort. As well, the kitchen is not supplied for 7 people: there were only 5 wine glasses and the coffee pot only brewed enough coffee for 4 people. Editor's Note: There are now additional wine glasses as well as coffee makers. There is no WiFi advertised in the description. January 2013.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is absolutely incredible. The Path of the Gods is highly recommended. It was a beautiful town with wonderful people. It just had a perfect atmosphere that made the vacation a great experience.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We are right in Positano and it was 100 steps to everything. Such a great location. However, this is not a villa for anyone with health problems or difficulty walking. It is all about the stairs.
Tips or Restaurants:
For restaurants, a must try is La Terra up on the mountain - organic and fabulous for great seafood - go to Next2 - only about 200m from the villa. Stay away from the beach area - it's just a rip off. There are spices, etc, but I would bring Ziploc bags/containers.
Directions:
Recommend having a driver pick you up at Naples train station. We then had the driver phone the key holder.

Overall:
La Serenissima was lovely and met all our needs. Altogether a lovely stay in bellissima Positano, despite the steps to and from the Villa!

Keyholder Maria and her partner, Marco, were lovely and provided us with a good orientation and information on services and activities available to us, some of which we accessed.

Overall:
Overall, we had a wonderful time.

Location above the beach and views. Having two terraces was very nice.
Enjoyed Least:
The owner only provides one large towel for each person. There is a washer but no dryer so you need to reuse towels. Also the owner doesn't provide extra toilet paper and this, while minor, should be clearly explained beforehand. The middle level bed was very hard and the couple sleeping on it had trouble.

Beautiful area, town, and ambiance. Easy access to other towns by boat or bus.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring a beach towel!

Tips or Restaurants:
The reviews on the we bsite are mostly outdated. Most of the things reviewers mentioned (no fans, no cutting boards, etc) have been resolved and the villa is fairly well supplied. It does still have ants and biting insects and dull kitchen knives. I wish I had contacted the key holder Maria prior to my arrival because we might have been able to arrange guides and services more easily than we did at the last minute. Marco was a wonderful guide and had lots of good ideas and recommended several good restaurants with reasonable prices. We particularly liked Mediterraneo and Next 2 above the villa.
Directions:
There's only one road to follow so we couldn't get lost in Positano, but we did think we'd missed the parcheggio. As it turned out, it was very obvious.

Overall:
We had a wonderful time. The location is perfect and the layout worked exceptionally well for three couples.

We loved the outdoor space and views.

The beds were hard and the twin beds in the middle room are unsatisfactory.
Surrounding Area:
The resturants near the home were very good. We really liked Nextto. We enjoyed trips to Pompeii, Capri, Ravello, and Amalfi. All are easy day trips.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in the middle of Positano, so everything is close...as long as you can handle lots of steps! We walked to Praiano, but it was quite a hike and the road is not "pedestrian friendly".
Tips or Restaurants:
The Cafe Positano at the top of the stairs is a great place to have your morning coffee.
Directions:
There was poor communication between the driver and the key holder as to our arrival time. He didn't call until we were almost there so they weren't ready for us.

Overall:
It was everything I had dreamed it to be. A wonderful family vacation that offered beauty, excursions, great food. Just relaxing on the terrace looking out was very peaceful. The weather was superb.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the size of the villa, offering privacy to each couple. The location and views were spectacular.
Enjoyed Least:
Ants. We couldn't keep up killing the ants that invaded the inside of the villa.
Surrounding Area:
Very quaint. I was amazed how these towns are nestled in the mountain. Each town had its own personality.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring good walking shoes. Lots of the local stores do not accept credit cards. Needed extra cash.
Directions:
I drove from Rome to Sorrento, and had a car service take us to the property.

Overall:
We were in Positano for one month, so we really got the true flavor of living there. For as long as we stayed, we still didn't want to leave when the time came. Lots of very friendly people willing to help, and a generosity of spirit. The food everywhere was good, as well as the waiters, who were fun and very friendly. Lots of good memories.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, location, location! 70 steps up to Via Pasitea, which we referred to as the Upper Village. Many wonderful restaurants, shops, some service, such as the photo store, where the owner was always giving us tips and making photos CD's for us to share with friends. A wonderful grocery store and a couple of wine stores. The wonderful views, both from the villa and all up and down Via Pasitea.
Enjoyed Least:
The patio was not nicely appointed, as the furniture was sparse and uncomfortable. Also, the plantings needed care. We took care of the outside area and left it cleaner than when we arrived.

Overall:
A wonderful villa filled with beautiful antiques and plenty of room for the six of us who stayed there. The proximity to the beach, shops and restaurants is excellent.
Enjoyed Most:
The three terraces that overlook the water - AMAZING views and great for relaxing anytime of day.
Enjoyed Least:
The bedroom downstairs is VERY small and the bathroom next to it does not have hot water.

Great restaurants with amazing views.

The villa is right in Positano, so easy to walk to anything in town. We took a boat to Capri -about an hour, and a bus to Amalfi - 40 minutes, and Ravello about an hour.
Tips or Restaurants:
Keep in mind that the fourth bedroom is very small and really only suitable for a child or very small adult. You might want to bring extra bars of soap as each bathroom has only give one small bar. We liked Next 2 for dinner. Very nice atmosphere and good food. Bring comfy shoes for all the stairs!

Overall:
Our time in Positano was excellent. The views were outstanding and the area was beautiful.
Enjoyed Most:
The views were great and the location was pretty good.
Enjoyed Least:
There was a lot of walking. Including the steps from the villa, it was about 110 to the main road and 260 to the beach directly.
Surrounding Area:
The Amalfi coast area is very beautiful. We toured the coast to Amalfi and Ravello up to Naples and Pompeii and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cliffs provide for an outstanding view of the bay and the setting sun
Nearby Events or Locales:
There is a little shopping area on the main road above the villa but the main town of Positano is a half mile of so down and back up the hill. However, we really didn't mind the walk. The bus service is pretty good but a little scary to me.
Tips or Restaurants:
Max's was the best restaurant in Positano that we tried. Very good, a little expensive. We also ate several times in a restaurant near the villa called Da Vincenzo which was very good.

You should advise renters that you can hire someone to take your bags up and down to the villa as this is a serious issue when you have a lot of luggage. We had to ask to find this information out. Also, garbage bins where hard to find!!

Overall:
It was terrific - really had a good week. We were warned ahead of time about the steps, and just to reinforce this, it's all about steps and walking in Positano. So please be prepared. It's 109 steps down from the main road to the villa and an additional 250 from the villa to the beach area. It was fine for us as we were walkers, but the humidity did make it difficult at times.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and view are exceptional. The patio areas and balconies are great. Lots and lots of space. there were only 3 of us so we didn't even use it all, but large trestle table on ground floor would be great for large groups and families. It was unseasonably warm the week we were there - 95 degrees all week with about 90 humidity - but it was nice and cool in the unit. Plus they had fans in each room which kept you cool at night while sleeping. The patio is well planted with beautiful flowers so the atmosphere was really pretty out on the porches. Great place to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner.
Enjoyed Least:
The mattresses are VERY hard -- and I like a hard mattress but it was like a wooden box. The kitchen was functional -- certainly has plenty of dishes, pots. etc. but it is very small. We only cooked in one night, and there were only 3 of us, but if you were cooking-in a lot and for a larger group it would be a little difficult to manage.
Surrounding Area:
The various towns were great - each one more picturesque than the next. Transportation to them was very easy and affordable via the ferry, which is accessed straight down the stepped "pathway" outside the villa. It's 259 steps down -- and up!
Nearby Events or Locales:
The ferry was excellent and very dependable so there was no issue in getting to the various towns. Also a SITA bus service. We only used once, from Amalfi up to Ravello and it worked out great. Highly recommend Persico Car Service - Nino Persico - for any transportation needs. We used him from Naples Airport to villa and he also arranged for porters to meet us and take luggage to the villa - Blu Porters. He also drove us to Pompeii and arranged for a private guide to provide a tour of Pompeii -Franco. Well worth it very knowledgeable.
Tips or Restaurants:
Just a couple of "FYIs" The coffee maker is an old fashioned Italian percolator that you put on the stove and only makes about 4 cups of espresso at a time. So it would be worth it if you have a big group to stop at the appliance store and buy one on the way into town. They dont have hair dryers in the unit, so again, we anticipated this and had the driver stop at the electronics store and we bought one for 20 euros that worked great.
Directions:
Recommend that you get porters to carry your luggage from the road to the villa. We used Blu Porters and they were arranged through our driver, Persico Car Service. It was 6 euros a bag and well worth it!

Overall:
We've been fortunate enough to travel many places around the world, and our stay in Positano ranks up there as one of the best holidays ever. We are already talking about going again next spring.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from Serenissima was outstanding. We spent every evening on the decks watching the sunset, drinking wine and eating loads of prosciutto and melon - it was fabulous! In addition, the villa is close enough to the city center that it was an easy 5 minute walk downhill to shopping, etc. Of course, it was a tough walk uphill to get back, but that kept us in shape after eating so much!
Enjoyed Least:
We really liked the property and would return in a heartbeat. If we had to pick something, it would be that I wish there were instructions in English for the oven. We also had a toilet that didn't want to work properly.
Surrounding Area:
We felt that of all the cities, Positano was the best. There are good restaurants, a ferry terminal which can get you to all the other cities very easily, and there were plenty of shops. It was also very quiet this time of year which we enjoyed. We also went to Pompeii by car, and Amalfi, Capri and Sorrento by ferry.

Positano city center was down 255 steps from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
We liked Cafe Mediterreneo right up the hill from the villa. The staff there really enjoyed talking with our children. If you are driving, it is essential that you pre-book parking at Parcheggio Milano - thankyou Barbara!. Driving is stressful on the Amalfi Coast - next time, we will probably take trains and ferries to get there.
Directions:
It is important to arrange parking in advance. We had to stop and ask directions to our parking garage because we couldn't believe we were on the correct road.
Check In Out:
After we dropped off our car, the parking attendant drove us to the villa steps. Maria met us immediately and walked us through the villa and explained how everything worked. She even gave us restaurant suggestions, etc. Upon departure, she came on Friday evening because we needed to leave very early Saturday morning. Very easy process overall.

I would definitely go back to this property. We just loved it!!!!
Enjoyed Most:
The house and the view was just exquisite. The house was nicer than what was displayed from the photos. I absolutely loved the porches on all three levels.

The ants were somewhat hard to control. We got it under some control with bug spray and powder.
Surrounding Area:
Just beautiful!!! Loved the whole terrain, mountains, town, beach even the steps were not that bad.

Praiano was nearest small town. You needed to take a cab or bus.

All the restaurants were wonderful. Things to bring might be extra soap, washcloth, shampoo. Everything else seemed to be there. The kitchen was stocked well with kitchen items.
Directions:
Once we found the church and the opticians sign we were OK. It was a little confusing at first. Since the road is one way, you have to find it the first time. We came in by taxi and found it a little difficult to pull off and get out with our luggage.

Very easy check in and check out. Lucrezia was very accommodating.

Overall:
This is a very special property. Incredibly located, great views, in a great town. I'd highly recommend this unit to anyone.
Enjoyed Most:
This property could be described better in your verbiage. The property is directly above the water and above the ferry passenger arrival point. Great view of everything and great activity. The best point about this property is that it faces west and south. Consequently the hot summer sun does not drench this property until 10:00pm at night. Consequently this property is nice and cool in the afternoon and evenings. The properties on the other side of the hill-valley in Positano are incredibly hot. This is a real plus for this property
Enjoyed Least:
There were ants in the small bedroom downstairs, and we used a full can of bug spray to get rid of them. Oh, the good news, the ants don't bite.

Overall:
Property was really nice, and Lucrezia was very accommodating.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was outstanding and the amount of space was perfect! Location was also excellent.
Enjoyed Least:
Everything was great...liked everything. They did not explain all the amenities so we didn't know there was things available to us in the villa - such as the intercom system for the door, so that you didn't have to climb the stairs to let people in - and the mosquito plug-in devices which we didn't know about until the last day. They should include electricity in the rates. The hot water is not included, so that adds up. The hot water is electric. Also more towels would have been nice.
Surrounding Area:
Views everywhere and you could get around very easily.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertusso was up above us. You could not walk, but a bus was easy to take.
Tips or Restaurants:
Da vincenzo was a great restaurant and so was cafe Positano. If you are willing to spend money, one night for dinner at San Pietro which is around the bend from Positano going toward Amalfi was stupendous! Food and view are outstanding. Buco di Bacca was great for night life and meeting all the locals!

Enjoyed Most:
The view! The sea is really beautiful with all the boats moored out in front of us. My husband and I also really enjoyed the huge thunder and lightening and rain showers we had almost every night we were there.
Enjoyed Least:
The bugs! And I'm not just talking about the mosquitoes and the ants. Both of those were tolerable, especially if you knew about the ants and made sure the kitchen was clean and the trash had been taken out. I'm talking about whatever got us in our bed! I was not happy with getting only one towel each for the whole week. While you may say we could have thrown them in the washing machine, I agree. But how are you going to get them dry with so much rain?! Sheets for a week I can live with, but give me more towels! And, it's really too bad that the third bedroom is really so small. Even though we all talked about it there were three couples on this trip, and living in that small bedroom with the twin beds was really a letdown after the other two bedrooms. So, three couples should keep that in mind.
Surrounding Area:
We loved traveling to other places by boat. We went to Amalfi and Salerno and loved the rides both ways. You see so much from the water.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano and yes, it was definitely within walking distance. It was 254 steps down to almost the center of the town, or you could go up to the road and walk down that about a quarter of a mile. The stairs were faster and they gave you a good excuse to eat pasta for lunch!
Tips or Restaurants:
That small book you sent to us before we left really had it covered. You may think it sounded silly when it was suggested you bring a cutting board you could put in the dishwasher, but it was a great suggestion. ALSO, they really don't have good sponges there so that was also a great suggestion. I brought almost everything on the list and was really glad I did. One suggestion, before you go shopping, check out what other people may have left behind. And no matter what, buy paper towels!
Directions:
Just that all you have to do is look for the white wall with all the flower pots opposite the eyeglass store and just up from the restaurant. Your directions were really great.
Check In Out:
I know it's on the sheet you send, but you might emphasize that the security deposit in Euros are needed upon check in and it must be in cash. The woman we dealt was really wonderful and we had no problems, but just a reminder in case you need to hit the ATM before arriving.

Enjoyed Most:
The lower patio with outdoor dining was beautiful. The view and the gardens were superb!
Enjoyed Least:
The villa is built into the hillside and was very damp. Even with all the windows open, we could not get rid of the mustiness in the back rooms.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is like no other place. The town, food, people every part was fantastic. You could not ask for a better location.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The entire town of Positano was easily reached on foot. You needed to be in reasonable physical condition to handle the stairs - 255 steps to lowest level of town. A car was not necessary nor would it be recommended. Leave the driving to the locals. They know the narrow winding roads and drive too fast for the tourists to keep up.
Tips or Restaurants:
A few fans would have helped circulate the air and perhaps dry out the dampness. If you like American coffee versus espresso everyday, you will need to bring your own pot. Italian coffee is wonderful; it is just a little heavy if you like several morning cups.
Directions:
Positano Limousine knows the property and provided great transfers from Naples as well as several half-day tours of the local area.

Enjoyed Most:
Views of the sea, garden terraces, character of the villa.
Enjoyed Least:
Although we read the warnings and are are all physically fit, everyone needs to know that the stairways used to get up and down in the town are a challenge. You can avoid them by walking on the snaking roads that also go up and down the mountain, but the narrowness and traffic also make the roads problematic.
Surrounding Area:
Great restaurants in town, boat trip to Capri
Tips or Restaurants:
Da Vincenzo restaurant - directly across the road from the top stairs access to the villa - wonderful owners who went out of their way to give us a great experience twice. Also Da Constantino at the top of the hill - they send a van to pick you up. These places were filled with locals, very reasonable, and the food was outstanding, especially the fresh seafood. Avoid Il Fornillo - our only bad dining experience in 18 days in Italy. Generally, the farther up the mountain you go, the less touristy and less expensive everything is. There are good and reasonable small grocery stores, and as mentioned before, restaurants, farther up the hill from the villa.
Check In Out:
People might want to use a porter service, because it is difficult getting luggage down all the steps to the villa at checkin and more difficult getting everything up the steps when leaving. But you should negotiate a reasonable price at the garage before going to the dropoff point.

Enjoyed Most:
THe several terraces, on each level, offered spectacular views and ultimate solitude. Looking down at the night sea, dotted with the lantern-lit fishing boats, is a memory etched forever.

The lack of fans made some of the balmy nights a bit uncomfortable.
Surrounding Area:
Absolutely beautiful. Visited Ravello, Amalfi my favorite, Pompeii, Capri on day trips. Every one of these places was incredible. I felt that Positano was a movie set it was so beautiful.

Our favorite restaurant in Positano hill is the Donna Rosa.

Enjoyed Most:
The view of the sea was very nice. The plumbing, water pressure, hot water availability, drainage was excellent. I've had other villas in Italy where this was a constant problem, but not here. The large lemons are abundant on the patios and make great lemonade. We also added lemon juice to our Cokes for a nice twist. The kitchen is adequately supplied with utensils for cooking, serving, dining. The TV worked fine, but we never found any English-language programming.
Enjoyed Least:
1 The lack of ventillation was a huge comfort problem. Other guests have commented on this as well. In July there is NO sea breeze in this location, although the view of the sea is great. We always knew the villa would not be airconditioned, but the lack of ceiling fans or simple box fans, to simply stir the air, made sleeping difficult and allowed mosquitoes easy access during the night. A simple fan would have cured that problem easily and inexpensively. Prior guests have purchased box fans for their stay and left them behind for others, but they mysteriously vanished before the next visitors arrived. 2 The undomesticated cats which some other guests have found cute are a nuisance. They enter the villa when doors are left open and leave their markers on towels or clothes that have been left on the floor. At night, at around 2 a.m., several of them would howl back and forth, keeping everyone awake in the night.
Surrounding Area:
The restaurants on the street above the villa were excellent, escpecially the Mediterraneo. The Cucino was fun and had great food as well. Cafe Positano has several tables overlooking all of Positano. Fun. Also, our minivan driver, Pepe, from Positano Taxi, was a real treat. He picked us up right on schedule at Naples train station and drove us to the villa stairway entrance, even calling ahead on his cell phone to have some porters meet us there and help us get our luggage into the villa from the street Pasquale 338-881-0320 - - but if you use the porters to help with luggage, be sure to agree on a per-piece price like 3 Euros each while you're still up on the street. If they haul everything down and THEN you discuss price, it will be double.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano proper is a ten-minute walk from the villa. It is much easier to climb the 40 steps UP to the street and then walk the street down into town rather than taking the 250 stone steps directly down. Once we figured out how much easier it was to walk on the street, we never took the direct route stairway, again.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you are there in the hot summer months, consider purchasing some kind of fan to ventilate your bedroom at night. If you bathe with a washcloth, bring you own from home; there are only towels at the villa. The little grocery store above the villa on the street is open Saturdays and Sundays, so don't stock up on groceries, etc., until you've checked to see what has been left behind in the villa by previous guests, and then walk up to the grocery store and buy whatever else you need. By the way, the ladies that run the grocery store will be happy to make you a fresh, delicious ham, mozzarella, tomato sandwich for 2 or 3 Euros, cheaper and better than many restaurants offer. You can connect to the internet from the villa if you have AOL. Just snap the phone line into your laptop and have it dial the Naples AOL connection number. Slow speed, but effective for email retrievals. Also, ask the property manager who greets you on the first day to demonstrate the dishwasher and clothes washing machine. There are printed instructions in English, obviously written by a non-native English speaker. The refrigerator and freezer work fine if you increase the dial settings to 5 for both. Set on 3 by the property manager, the refrigerator is barely cooler than room temperature, and ice never fully freezes in the freezer. Don't overlook the mini-ice-trays in the topmost section of the freezer unit. That tray is thin and easy to miss. Also, the condo is not well suited for arriving by rental car. The garages that are available are a ways away and rather expensive. We did not have a car, and were glad.

Enjoyed Most:
Everything! The view, the location, great space, four excellent bathrooms, four beautiful balconies on three floors. Absolutely everything!!
Enjoyed Least:
If I have to fill in this space I would only say that if steps are a problem, you might think twice. Our group ranged in age from 40-62 and no one had a problem---a little complaining, but no problems.
Surrounding Area:
It's gorgeous! We took the medium sized boat ride around Capri. The boat only holds 12 passengers and the captain took us into all the nooks and crannys around the coastline. It was great.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The property is just a short descent into the heart of Positano. Either way you go up or down you will find pleanty of resturants and shopping.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't drive. Use public transportation or hire a driver from one of the taxi services. They will pick you up in a car or van depending on the size of your group and take you on an all day tour or just up the hill. They are very professional and only drive immaculate vehicles. I thought it was very reasonably priced for the personalized tours however we spent 30 euro just to go to dinner one night so after that we chose resturants closer to home. Also, the public ferries are a good and inexpensive way to travel but the schedule is kind of hard to figure out.

We arrived a couple hours early and the owner had no problem. She was very helpful and had good suggestions for restaurants etc.

Overall:
Having traveled extensively throughout Europe, my wife and I tend to be somewhat jaded travelers. Nothing anyone tells you or anything you read can quite prepare you for the beauty and wonder of this place. When God created the world, he saved his best work for the Amalfi Coast...and when he created Positano, surely Serenissima would have been his headquarters.

The view as well as the central location were outstanding.

There was absolutely nothing that we did not like about this property

Everything! The people, the scenery, the food...Amalfi is an absolutely magical part of the world !
Tips or Restaurants:
Steps, steps and more steps...bring comfortable shoes! As for restaurants, Il Fornello is the best! Run by a lovely family, their Risotto agrumi alone is worth the trip! Also, da Silvano at the top of the steps is outstanding and run by wonderful folks. Il Brace in Priano is not much to look at but food that is transcendant! Other than that skip Montepertuso restaurants - they are overpriced and not worth the trip and the places on the beach in Positano are mediocre at best.
Directions:
If driving, and the driving is not the horror that everyone tells you it is, park at the first lot coming into town Milano ? and walk from there or have the porter drive you down in your car and he will take it back to the lot.

Overall:
Only that we loved the house and its heavenly view.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved everything about this property! The view, the lushly planted terraces and balconies, the tasteful and beautifully coordinated interior with colorful tiles and interesting back wall carved out of the hillside, the location--and did I mention the view! We'd go back in a heartbeat.
Enjoyed Least:
There was really nothing we didn't like about the house. However, the keyholder was hard to contact.
Surrounding Area:
Again, everything. It was the perfect mix--a great place to relax and unwind, but with plenty to see and do in the area, much accessible by water. Wonderful trips to Ravello, Amalfi and Capri by water, Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii, Paestum. We spent a wonderful day on one of the little Positani boats that can be rented with a boatman who took us along the coast, stopped to let us swim wherever we wished, and dropped us off at a wonderful restaurant on the water where we had lunch.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano--and walking is the operative word here. So many steps--very good exercise. House is accessed only by flights of stone steps and somewhat hard to find initially. The town is small and thoroughly charming, yet with plenty of restaurants--during our two weeks we ate out every night but one. We were there out of season so didn't experience the crowds and noise that some visitors mention.
Tips or Restaurants:
Although we've always rented a car on our previous trips to Europe, this time we decided not to and it was the best decision we made. There were six in our party, plus parking in Positano is at a premium, and the Amalfi drive the only real road along the coast can be hair-raisingly tight especially when there is a rockslide at one end, forcing all the traffic to go in the other direction, which happened at least twice during our stay. Whenever we wanted to go somewhere we called Positano Limo and Taxi Service. We even had them pick us up and deliver us back to Rome. We ended up having the same driver, wonderful Rino, for all our excursions--though you can't get too hung up about having to go somewhere when rockslides or rough water can necessitate a last-minute change in plans. One thing we hadn't expected was how warm it was in the first half of October--had to go out to buy bathing suits.
