Customer Reviews

Overall:
We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was as pictured, perhaps smaller than I expected, especially the bedroom, but very suitable for our needs. The bathroom was larger than other European bathrooms we have experienced and there was a wonderful massage unit in the shower.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Surrounding Area:
Everything a traveler could want or need was in easy walking distance. At the end of the block there is an excellent bakery. An organic food store is just across the street. Great selection of restaurants close by. The taxi stand was just across the street which made getting around very easy.
Tips or Restaurants:
We strongly recommend using the cab service suggested by RentVillas. Our driver was Jean-Pau and we were very pleased. He was waiting for us with a sign, commented on sights as we drove, and drove safely in the crazy Paris traffic. We hired him for our return trip and he was prompt, drove us right to the departure area, managed our bags, took us inside the airport and stayed with us every step until we needed to go through security. His assistance was way above and beyond! Excellent!
Check In Out:
Joel was waiting for us when we arrived. Thorough and helpful. Very welcoming and friendly.

Overall:
It was a peaceful and quiet spot in the city. When we came back to our property we felt like we had shut away the hustle and bustle outside.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the tall windows and the little balcony.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The entrance was right between two trash disposal areas, and was not cleaned up during our stay(Editor's Note: In August most of France is on vacation...). The balcony of our property could have been cleaner. We wish there was a little place to put the dirty towels away too, so we don't have to pile them under the sink.
Surrounding Area:
It was a close walk to Montorgeuil and Pompidou, it's also close to food, grocery, cafes.
Tips or Restaurants:
Do try Helen Darroze among other Michelins, it was very very good. Bring a pack or two of your own snacks, such as instant noodles, because sometimes you might not want to go out and after a day of out and about, might not even want to sit through long dinners. Do bring reading materials to sit on the balcony. We wish we had been told that the whole of Paris was on holiday during August, so no good restaurant/stores were opened much.
Check In Out:
Our guy was very helpful, fun, and very swift.

Overall:
It was OK, but we were expecting more because of the pictures we had seen.
Enjoyed Most:
Excellent location.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Noise. Chairs, stools, etc, were constantly being moved around above us and this continued past our bedtimes.
Surrounding Area:
Proximity to the metro, grocery store and restaurants. Also, we felt safe.

Overall:
The apartment was great - the location was handy to stores, transportation and sites. The apartment matches exactly the photos by Rentvillas which made us very happy. The property manager took time to walk us through all of the details about the apartment and the area which was very helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
The apartment is well sized and comfortable for 2 people. The balcony access was nice and provided good air circulation when the doors were open. There is an organic grocery store right across the street and a bakery at the end of the street which was convienient.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The main street Sebastapole is quite busy with traffic and police cars so the sirens and horns could be quite loud at times if you had the patio doors open.
Surrounding Area:
There is a great long street one street over from the apartment we called "Restaurant Alley". It had great spots for snacks or for drinks and for people watching. The area is quite busy with lots of locals and so you feel like a real Parisian.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Everything is within walking distance - Notre Dame church was about 8 minutes away - the Louvre was about 10 minutes away and the St Denis gates were about 10 minutes away. It was quite central to Hotel DVille and the Republic as well.
Tips or Restaurants:
The apartment was very well equipped and we didn't need anything extra. The apartment comes with a coffeemaker but you can't buy a small jar of ground coffee so you might want to bring some from home. Otherwise you're taking the whole jar home. Filters were provided. There is no teapot if you love tea, but there are mugs and teacups in the cupboard.
Directions:
It took the property manager an extra 30 minutes to reach the apartment even though we called when we landed so ensure you call as soon as you exit the plane so you are not waiting too long in front of the building with luggage.
