Customer Reviews
Overall:
Perfect, this was an amazing villa.
Enjoyed Most:
Love the open space and the decor.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The view, however, with the buildings so close I don't think you can really get a good view.
Surrounding Area:
It was the perfect location, not too crazy, and within blocks of everything.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We walked everywhere.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you really want a facecloth, bring one, none of our hotels in Italy had any.

Enjoyed Most:
The location in the Oltrano area. It was away from the heavily touristy areas and yet just a short walk across the bridge when we were ready to be tourists.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The apartment was very dark Even during the day, we found that we had to turn on the lights. Also, early morning noise from the garbage truck which came by about 6:30am made it difficult to sleep.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed being close to the Piazza San Spirito where there were several reasonable restaurants to chose from. Gelato also was excellent.
Tips or Restaurants:
We brought paper towels and toilet paper. Although there was some in the apartment, it was nice to have it on hand and not have to search for a store for basic supplies.

Overall:
Very authentic apartment in an historical building.
Enjoyed Most:
Excellent location, great furniture and tasteful decor.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Although the location is excellent and central, it is also noisy. It is hard to have it all.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are many nearby restaurants and grocery stores.
Check In Out:
Rentvillas did a great job of arranging our holiday.

Enjoyed Most:
The palazzo is situated exactly where I wanted to be. It is an elegant building and the apartment is tastefully decorated. I was travelling alone and found it to be the perfect size and with the very high ceilings, not at all claustrophobic . It has lovely old tiled floors and beautiful old wooden ceiling. Bathroom and kitchen modern and work well. I felt safe and liked having the office right next door if I needed anything.
Unpleasant Surprises:
It is noisy traffic, so bring ear plugs, I was out most of the day so didn't really mind it. Also applies to the sunlight factor. No direct sunlight because of large building across the street. Maybe a deeper mattress. Needs a cheese grater. Editor's Note: Double-paned glass window was installed January 2006.
Surrounding Area:
The Oltrano is a fun and lively area, lots of restaurants all around, lots of food shops and a small supermarket just around the corner. Close to Piazza Santo Spirito where there is a produce and flower market most mornings, and an antique market once a month. Lots of artisan workshops and speciality shops. I felt safe walking around as there are lots of people in the streets until about 9.30 pm.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The old centre of Florence is just across the Arno, lot more tourists there, I walked there every morning to explore various treasures, fun to cross the Arno and then return at lunch time. Nothing is very far away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Save your plastic shopping bags for trash, you dispose of it in the dumpster across the road - stand on the bar to open it!
Check In Out:
The check out is very early - 9:30 am.

Overall:
The staff was helpful and friendly!
Enjoyed Most:
The privacy once we were inside.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Since the apartment faced the street it was extremely noisy all day and night long. (Double-paned glass window will be installed January 2006)
Surrounding Area:
The proximity to the Ponte Vecchio.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you stay in any of the apartments facing the street, bring ear plugs!
Directions:
Easy to find; all cab drivers knew exactly where it was.
Check In Out:
Very easy and acccommodating.

Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was quite large and airy with large windows. All the comforts of home including air conditioning which was not expected.
Unpleasant Surprises:
It was noisy, and we couldn't leave the windows open, which we like to do when we sleep, and had to turn on the air conditioner in order to sleep.
Surrounding Area:
Very easy access to all areas we were interested in - we were able to walk to all of our desired locations.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring good ear plugs for sleeping.

Beautifully furnished and maintained.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Street noise.
Surrounding Area:
Peaceful, out of the hubbub.

Overall:
The apartment was most charming and left us feeling very comfortable returning "home" after visiting the many attractions of Florence.
Enjoyed Most:
The apartment had a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Unfortunately little light is able to enter through the 3 magnificent windows. The morning sunshine would have added a glorious touch.
Surrounding Area:
We were a comfortable and enjoyable walk to everything. The museums, galleries, the Boboli gardens all close at hand. Even the old west gate, just a short walk away, makes you feel as though you have exited a museum and found yourself in Italy. Wonderful!
Nearby Events or Locales:
All of Florence is at your doorstep.

Overall:
This apartment is wonderful in every way! I have rented it two times and I would go back again!
Enjoyed Most:
Although the apartment is relatively small, it feels spacious. The kitchen is small but fully equipped. The washing machine works, which is so nice!
Unpleasant Surprises:
There is some noise at night, but we got used to it. The shower drain was clogged the first night, but the management office fixed it immediately.
Surrounding Area:
I love the location of the building. There is great shopping nearby - I especially love the Santo Spirito market which is held every day all year long. We could buy groceries and clothing there. We loved being in the Oltrarno area, far enough from the tourist attractions, so we actually felt like a native of Florence.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The Santo Spirito market is wonderful!
Tips or Restaurants:
Make reservations for the Uffizi Gallery. There were very few tourists when we were in Florence this time so we were able to get in three times without waiting in line, but usually reservations are necessary. The corridor between the Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Pitti (recommended in Italy Italian style) is always closed though!

Overall:
Having stayed in the building just six months before, we knew we would enjoy it. This property was perfect for us in every way.
Enjoyed Most:
It was fully equipped, yet small and easy to keep clean. The washer worked (Yeah!) and the kitchen, though very warm, was completely functional. It is also located in a great spot, close to everything, yet out of the tourist area.
Unpleasant Surprises:
None.
Surrounding Area:
We loved shopping everyday for fresh and delicious foods in "our" neighbourhood. And everything was in easy walking distance, including our favourite gelateria.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The market at Piazza Santo Spirito was a wonderful place to visit. There were several festivals in the Piazza della Signoria that we enjoyed. We like to seek out little places so we walked for long periods of time and just observed the sights and the people. Piazzale Michelangelo was a favourite spot.
Tips or Restaurants:
The best place to buy pasta in the area is La Bolognese, and we enjoyed their products most nights. Our friends liked Cibreo, Angolino and Tramvai.
