Overall:
The weather did not cooperate while we were there in late October. However, the town of Amalfi is beautiful and the bus rides to neighboring towns offered stunning views.
Enjoyed Most:
Views from every room.
Enjoyed Least:
Beds were firm and linens and towels could have been nicer. Apartment required 5 keys to enter. The apartment is quite basic inside with seating for only 4 in the living room.
Surrounding Area:
It was easy to catch buses to Ravello and Positano from the plaza. The town is compact and full of shops.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were right in the heart of Amalfi, and Atrani is also within walking distance (use the tunnel).
Tips or Restaurants:
You'll have to stock up on food, coffee and paper goods at the local Deco store. There are some cleaning supplies provided. We really enjoyed the Taverna restaurant.
Directions:
We took the bus from Salerno and were met in the plaza by Daniela.
Check In Out:
Note that you don't need to use the keys to get out; you can buzz the doors open on your way out of the building (we didn't figure this out until day 2!).

Overall:
It was fantastic. We absolutely loved Ghita.
Enjoyed Most:
The deck was amazing. We spent a lot of time up there!
Enjoyed Least:
Having to get through 5 doors with 5 different keys!
Surrounding Area:
The views were magnificent. Surprisingly, the views behind us of Ravello (the hills) was better than the view of the water.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Atrani--yes, a very short walk. Atrani was very nice.
Tips or Restaurants:
Good restaurants - Villa Eva and Salvatore in Ravello. Strongly recommend a trip to Ravello, particularly during the music festival.
Make sure you dont buy gelati/panini etc too close to the beach as they are almost twice as expensive there and no better.
There is a really great green grocer just near Ghita.
Make friends with a taxi driver. They are all very nice, and if you meet one of them and build a relationship with him you will get cheaper fares.
Definitely check out Africano Club for a night out (make sure you pick the right night)
Bring sunscreen!

Overall:
We spent our last week of our month in Italy at this property with our adult children and found it lovely and delightful. The views were amazing. The terrace was a great surprise and used every time it wasn't raining.
Enjoyed Most:
The space for everyone to spread out and the beautiful views of the sea.
Enjoyed Least:
The number of keys that it took to get in and out of the property and my husband would say the number of steps (130), but there is an elevator...which takes a key, too!
Surrounding Area:
Amalfi was lovely as was the entire coast area.
Nearby Events or Locales:
This property was in Amalfi and Positano was a 30 minute bus ride away.
Tips or Restaurants:
We loved several restaurants. Donna Stella Pizzeria got our business a couple of times. La Taverna degli Apostoli was wonderful. As was the pizzeria/ristorante at the very end of the main road towards the mountain...Il Murino. Amazing seafood! The kitchen was well stocked with good cooking utensils, including knives. There were plenty of dishes and there is a dishwasher, too.
Directions:
There would be no way to find this property except to meet the agent at the bus stop and walk up. It is a restricted driving zone.... and who wants to drive the Amalfi Coast anyway? We were running late (again) this time because of missed flights and lost luggage, but Daniella was incredibly kind and met us much later than the original agreed upon time. Everyone was truly helpful.

Overall:
The Amalfi coast is breathtaking and the villa is in the middle of the old town. It could not be more centrally located.
Enjoyed Most:
The location in the center of the old town and the wonderfull nights spent drinking wine on the roof terrace.
Enjoyed Least:
The steps. It took a few days for my 91 year old father to get up and down more than once per day. He did get good at it.
Surrounding Area:
We rented a 21-foot boat and toured the coast from the water. It was beyond description. The local dining was wonderful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Amalfi. We were in the center of it. We walked everywhere that we went.
Tips or Restaurants:
Make sure to eat at Il Mulino. We could not get enough. Its a short quarter mile walk up the hill in old town.
Directions:
Main street is closed several times a day, but property manager came to meet us at the roundabout at the main square.

Overall:
We had the greatest time! Ghita has the best location. It has easy access to Positano, Ravello, and Capri. Just hop a boat, bus or taxi. All was so easy. Great food all around. Do not worry about the electric charges. We only paid 42 Euros for 2 weeks. At first the stairs are a little much but by the end of the 2 weeks they were a cake walk. Helps burn off all the pasta!
Enjoyed Most:
Location, view, and hearing the church bells.
Enjoyed Least:
There are dogs on the 3rd floor that bark when people come ang go. There were sheets slipcovering the couches. The beaches are small and have pebbles, not sand. Hard on the feet but the water is so beautiful.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring as little as possible. You have to carry it up the stairs, but that is not a big deal, really. There are several GREAT local restaurants: Go out of the Apt gates and go left and you will run into it just around the corner. BEST PIZZA. BEST Antipasto, go to Maria's - walk down toward the main square. Just before you get there it will be on the left and is such a fun place--eat inside. BEST ALL AROUND: Just before the paper mill on the right--there's outdoor seating. Super food and family.
Directions:
We had a car pick us up. Thanks, Barbara at RentVillas!
Check In Out:
Very easy. The local agent was waiting for us and took us to the apartment.

Overall:
Very good.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and rooftop deck and enjoying wine at the end of the day.
Enjoyed Least:
Steps - but it's AMALFI, after all.
Surrounding Area:
Aah... La Costiera Amalfitana.
Tips or Restaurants:
StairMaster before you go... then take it all in. The Calabrese people are beautiful.
Check In Out:
Very professional.

Overall:
It was excellent. The property was beautiful and the experience was great - from all of Barbara's help at RentVillas prior to our departure to the great service by the property manager. Everyone went out of their way to make sure our vacation went smoothly - THANKS!
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the patio.
Surrounding Area:
Most beautiful place I have ever visited.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We lived right in the midst of downtown - was great!
Tips or Restaurants:
Just beware of the stairs!
Directions:
You arranged a driver for us so this was not a problem.

Overall:
Fantastic view, excellent location, very well kept.
Enjoyed Most:
Great location. Beautiful view of the Mediterranean and mountains. Very clean and spacious.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs!
Surrounding Area:
The sea and surrounding ports. Easy water taxi trip to Positano, Capri, the grottos.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were right in the middle of Amalfi. Easy access to shops, restaurants, transportation, boats. All within minutes.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a basket, rope and pulley system to bring supplies up. Much easier than carrying up 130 steps!

Enjoyed Least:
Steps. Not good for elderly unless they are informed of the stairs.
Surrounding Area:
Everything. Center of Amalfi.
Sue, April, 2006
Enjoyed Most:
It is very open and spacious. Very clean and the roof garden is wonderful.
Enjoyed Least:
The steps, of course. Not very good for older adults carrying luggage, in particular. It would be good for you to warn people who might be coming with heavy luggage and to offer the possibility of some local kids to help with carrying to and from the apartment.
The yapping dog next door is a pest.
Surrounding Area:
A delightful and beautiful place to be and we would certainly recommend the area and the apartment. We were very lucky with the weather. Wouldn't want to be there when the rains come.
However, the food that the local restaurants serve up for dinner is mediocre at best and certainly not cheap. The best food we had when we ate out was in Positano at the same price.
We eventually tended to find somewhere for a decent lunch and bought food to prepare in the apartment for dinner.
Tips or Restaurants:
I would suggest to the owner that he install Satellite TV and add on the charge for it. Very small expenditure and very welcome to renters.
Would strongly advise against driving ANYWHERE. Two of our party have driven all over the world including other parts of Italy but neither of us have ever seen such crazy and suicidal driving as occurs in the Amalfi region.
Get a car to pick you up from the airport or station to take you to the apartment.
Recommend bringing one large plastic drink container per person. A sharp knife for bread, vegetables and fruit. A cheap cutting board. If a non-connoisseur of wine, buy the cheapest local variety as it is pretty good.
Directions:
We didn't need directions since we pre-ordered a car to pick us up and take us to the property.
Check In Out:
The young lady who helped us was extraordinarily helpful and thoroughly delightful.
Michael, October, 2005
Enjoyed Most:
It was located in the middle of town yet far enough up so the noise below wasn't heard. Convenient location. Terraces off the rooms were great to have and the additional terrace upstairs was nice.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs were very tiresome after a few trips. The entrance to the building was dirty and moldy. Did not like carrying our luggage through the center and up 140 stairs. Let people know that a porter can be arrange to carry their baggage...we did this on the way out and were thrilled.
Surrounding Area:
The coast is beautiful. Loved Ravello. Liked the access to the boats that go to Positano, Capri, etc. Limoncello was yummy.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in the center of Amalfi.
Tips or Restaurants:
We found the kitchen pots and pans a little dirty so we really did not cook, but did enjoy light fare from the market...olives, cheeses, etc. We did not find a bad restaurant. Ristorante Torri almost directly underneath the property and it was wonderful!
Directions:
There was a lot of confusion as to if we could drive into the town to get to the property...were told yes, then could not, and the same thing happened on the way out.
