A large family or group of friends will be very happy in this recently and fully restored 18th century French country house with its own private swimming pool. It has beautiful views of the Luberon mountains and the nearby villages and countryside are perfect for exploring. The villa is very private yet it is close to shops and grocery stores and restaurants. It is a perfect base for relaxing after a day of sightseeing or just enjoying a book and relaxing around the pool.

The property is in region of Provence and is located near (4 Km) the resort village of Roussillon. It is about 2 Km from shops and grocery stores and is on a quiet gentle hillside overlooking the countryside.
Nearby Attractions: hot air ballooning in St Saturnin les Apt, horseback riding in Joucas (6 km), walking path.
Carpentras: 49 km/30.5 mi
Avignon: 48 km/30 mi
Cavillon: 35 km/21.5 mi
Gordes: 10 km/10 mi

A private hectare landscaped in flower and trees. The villa is a fully restored 18th century two level country house; it has a large tiled terrace (430 m2) and furnished pool area with 14 deck chairs. There is a BBQ in the garden area. The swimming pool has built in steps and measures 11 meters x 7 meters x 190 at the deep end. The pool is open from May to September. There is a 50 m2 pool house and a separate guest bathroom and a warm water shower. There is parking on the grounds with room for 4 cars in the carport area.

The villa is furnished in very high quality and comfortable furniture. Many of the ceilings have exposed wooden beams and tiled floors.
Ground Floor: The villa opens up into a large (50 m2) living room with satellite TV, stereo and DVD player. It also has a dining area with dining table, and access to the veranda. There is an eat-in kitchen with an open floor plan and is ideal for family gatherings. The kitchen has an oven, cook top, microwave, and dishwasher. There is one bedroom with a queen-size (160 cm) bed, en suite bathroom with tub, and access to the terrace. There is another bedroom with queen-size (160 cm) bed, and en suite bathroom with shower. There is also a guest bathroom on the ground floor.
First Floor: There are two twin-bedded (90 cm) rooms, each with en suite bathroom with shower.
Annex: The annex is connected to the house by an interior corridor. There is a living/dining room (50 m2) with a decorative fireplace and access to the terrace. There is a small open kitchen with oven, cook top, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, and access to the terrace. There is a twin-bedded room with bathroom with shower and a separate WC.
First Floor: The upstairs has a gallery with a satellite TV, stereo and DVD player. It also has two bedrooms with queen-size (160 cm mattress) beds and en suite bathrooms with showers. There is access to a large (20 m2) veranda with access to the terrace and swimming pool.

Overall:
The villa provided a very good house for 11 adults with an active lifestyle. The weather was perfect, allowing us to relax by the pool.
Enjoyed Most:
Location was good for visiting local towns. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable.The kitchen worked well for the private chef/group meals preparation.
Enjoyed Least:
The living area in the main house was small and furnishings were average. Also, our Internet connection only worked half the week.
Surrounding Area:
The towns easily reached within 15 minutes to an hour.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Garages was the closest town, but a good walk. Roussillon was a nice walking town with great restaurants and shops.
Tips or Restaurants:
Future renters should not miss having Chef Youcef from Deluxe Restaurant. He gave our group a wonderful lesson producing a delicious and beautiful meal. The market on Sunday in L'sle sur la Sorgue is a must! Get there early, because you can be there all day (antiques to food); we brought home delicious roasted chickens for dinner, cheese, and sausages. Prices for gifts are cheaper at the market than in stores. A couple other great restaurants: Maison Gouin in Le Coustellet (about 20 minutes) with a great wine cellar; Restaurant David in Roussillon (only 15
minutes from villa) in L'isle sur la Sorgue, and Grand Cafe Del la Sorgue.
The villa has no supplies so you have to buy everything, including toilet paper, paper towels, salt and pepper, soap, dish detergent, and soap for the washing machine.)

Overall:
We loved the property and the location was great. We were very comfortable with such a large group.
Enjoyed Most:
The house was beautiful and clean and comfortable. Each bedroom was very nice with a great bathroom. The view was spectacular and the glass sun room helped us appreciate it. The location was close to many beautiful hill towns.
Enjoyed Least:
The caretakers do not speak English and we do not speak French. This posed a problem when the Internet was down and when we lost electricity due to a broken dishwasher. Both problems were eventually fixed.
Surrounding Area:
The hill towns, the market days, the history, and the art were magnificent.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Rousillon and Apt were very close, but not walkable.
Tips or Restaurants:
Throroughly check if the Internet works. Make sure you can reach the caretaker by phone (try before she leaves.) Check the days for the street markets. We had a meal prepared by a chef recommended by RentVillas and it was amazing.
Directions:
We did have a GPS. We also found it hard to find in the dark on the first night.
Check In Out:
Have a good English/French dictionary.

Overall:
Our experience in Provence was everything we had anticipated.
The mountains, the valleys, the beautiful small villages, the visit to Arles and St Remy for the path of the artist Van Gogh, the Pont Du Gard aqueduct, the beautiful Cliffs of Cassis the wine region of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Everyone should have this magnificent experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The Villa, Mas Roussillon, is a private property with a beautiful view of the Luberon mountains and located just 2 km from the charming village of Apt - well worth strolling through the narrow streets for shopping.
Enjoyed Least:
There were twelve of us women and there was not a single complaint regarding the villa. We were all so pleased with our choice.
Surrounding Area:
Easy access to shopping for pleasure and daily runs to the grocery store!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Apt was the nearest small town, not within walking distance but only 2 km by car.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa was well supplied with everything we needed, except a corkscrew for our wine!!!! We found wonderful outdoor restaurants and enjoyed people watching.
Directions:
We used our GPS as well as the instructions sent to us by Rentvillas.
Check In Out:
We were met by the representative, Natalie, whom we adored. She was so accommodating as we had an early departure time at 430 a.m. and she was right there to go over the final inspection.
