For a couple that plans on spending their time out exploring the City of Light, this is the place for you. Located in the Marais, this studio apartment is within walking distance of the Bastille Opera and the Louvre. Although small, this studio will offer a safe and clean accommodation during your visit with a loved one and a nice place where you can call home for free.

This apartment is located in the heart of the Marais, which stretches across the third and fourth arrondissements of Paris. Characterized by the impressive mansions (or Hotels Particuliers) of the 17th and early 18th century, this neighborhood was originally the residences of aristocratic families. The surrounding Marais is not just an historic quarter, it is also filled with trendy boutiques and cafes, as well as the kosher shops in the Jewish neighborhood around the Rue des Rosiers. Rue Saint Martin is also full of stores and galleries. Nearby attractions include the Hotel de Ville, Place des Vosges, the Georges Pompidou Centre, the Stravinsky Fountain, Musee Carnavalet, Musee Picasso, Victor Hugo's house, Notre Dame, and the Louvre. Within walking distance is the metro stop Chemin Vert.
Nearby Attractions: The city of Paris! Explore Paris on foot to find the hidden treasures of the city of light. Unknown too many are the Beehives of the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg – hit the beehives at the right time in the fall and you’ll be able to purchase the honey! The popular cocktail bar, Les Etages, has two “branches”, one located in the Marais; the other in St Germain. The covered market, Marche St.-Quentin, dates back to 1860, and has 30 plus stalls of mouth- watering cheese, baked goods, meats and more. La Perlerie is a tiny store offering bronze and silver bracelet and necklace charms and you can assemble your jewelry right in the store. For some of the best steak frites of Paris, stop by Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, known simply as l’Entrecôte, but expect a wait of at least a half-hour!

- Upon arrival in Paris, the local property manager will take an imprint of your credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Amex) to cover any extra charges or accidental damages to the property.
Additional Expenses
- For stays longer than one week, extra maid service is available for an additional charge, for a minimum of two hours per day. The hourly cleaning fee is: 30 EUR
- Local calls within Paris are free. Clients will need to purchase a phone card to make long distance calls or calls to cell phone numbers.
- Arrival Fee (after 8 pm or on a Bank Holiday) Payable upon Arrival: 75 EUR

- UPON ARRIVAL, RENTERS MUST PROVIDE A PHOTOCOPY OF EACH TRAVELER’S PASSPORT AND SIGN A FORM FOR THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES OR ACCESS TO THE APARMENT MAY BE DENIED.

Overall:
I absolutely loved this space. It's warm and cozy and well laid out. You need a good heart and strong legs to climb the five flights to the space, but I felt it was worth it, particularly with the amount I ate every day while in Paris! And it was a terrific retreat to come home to at the end of the day. I plan to make use of it again as soon as possible whenever I can return with my husband. And as always, the folks at Rentvillas were more than helpful as I prepared to take my trip.
Enjoyed Most:
It felt like my own little Parisian garret. It was cozy and well-appointed and just what I needed. Plus, I LOVE the neighborhood. Smack in the middle of the Marais and just around the corner from the Place des Voges.
Enjoyed Least:
As I say, the climb up the stairs was a challenge, particularly when I needed to do it several times a day, but it more than makes up for that. One small inconvenience was that the remote for the DVD player was broken so I couldn't watch the DVDs I'd brought with me. This was only important because the only English television was news. But again, that's a small point. And if you plan to cook, which I didn't, there is only a small stovetop and a microwave, no oven. Finally, because it's the top floor there's a sloped roof that comes down over the bed area. This is only really a problem when trying to get into the dresser. You just have to be conscious not to hit your head.
Surrounding Area:
The Marais is an absolutely lovely area that I want to return to and explore much further. A million small restaurant and boutique shops and art galleries. I actually bought a painting from one of the neighborhood galleries that will always be a reminder of my stay there. The Place des Voges is just a beautiful little spot to sit and sip coffee while Paris life strolls by.
Directions:
I took a cab from the airport and they had no trouble finding the place. Very close to the Bastille Metro stop which makes it really convenient. Might be useful to know that the best exit from the Metro is number 8. Took me a few days to figure that out.
