You’ve come across an interesting find here! This Paris apartment is located in a building that was once used as barracks for the musketeers of the King! Adults will feel the excitement of staying in a 17th century lodging while kids will be interested to know that right outside in the courtyard is where the musketeers kept their horses. All in all, it’s a wonderful apartment in a great part of the city, St Germain des Pres.

-
The apartment is located in Paris's 6th arrondissement within the neighborhood of St. Germain des-Pres. St. Germain is full of chic boutiques, art galleries, cafes, restaurants, and bakeries as well as some of the city's most famous sites including the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Latin Quarter! This district stretches from the Seine River all the way to Montparnasse and was once where bohemians and artists gathered. Just a quick metro ride away is the Notre Dame, the Orsay Museum, and the Pantheon. Within walking distance is the Vaneau metro stop.
Nearby Attractions: The city of Paris! Explore Paris on foot to find the hidden treasures of the city of light. Unknown too many are the Beehives of the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg – hit the beehives at the right time in the fall and you’ll be able to purchase the honey. The popular cocktail bar, Les Etages, has two “branches”, one located in the Marais; the other in St Germain. The covered market, Marche St.-Quentin, dates back to 1860, and has 30 plus stalls of mouth- watering cheese, baked goods, meats and more. La Perlerie is a tiny store offering bronze and silver bracelet and necklace charms and you can assemble your jewelry right in the store. For some of the best steak frites of Paris, stop by Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, known simply as l’Entrecôte, but expect a wait of at least a half-hour.

Customer Reviews
Overall:
Wonderful. This was our third time staying at this property and once again it met all of our expectations.
Enjoyed Most:
I love the location. It is a few steps away from the metro, very convenient. There is a lovely grocery store a block down the street, which is great for getting baguettes in the morning or to keep some snacks in the apartment. It is in a lovely area, close to great shopping, like Le Bon Marche, practically across the street!
Enjoyed Least:
The 77 steps it takes to get up to the apartment.
Surrounding Area:
It is very safe and quite. The shopping is terrific.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Not applicable.
Tips or Restaurants:
Do not bring anything. All is provided and it is a very easy place to stay. Great restaurant finds include Café Bini, in the 6th, as well as RL, also in the 6th. Both places require reservations but have menus in English.
Directions:
The directions were perfect. Couldn't be easier.
Check In Out:
The check in/check out process was very easy. Our contact met us at the appointed time outside the apartment and walked us through it, showed us how to operate the washing machine, told us about the code to the building and was very friendly overall. For check out, we just had to leave the keys in the apartment and take out the trash. Very simple!

Overall:
Positive. Excellent location.
Enjoyed Most:
The proximity to the metro and the neighborhood.
Enjoyed Least:
No air conditioning, but I was aware of that when I booked the place.
Surrounding Area:
The shops and cafes were stellar. Close to a small grocery store was also a nice treat. Loved being steps away from the metro.
Tips or Restaurants:
The apartment is completely self sufficient. You don't need to bring a thing. I highly recommend Cafe Parisien, Ralphs, Marco Polo, all great restaurants within a metro stop or two of the apartment.
Andee, August
