If the afternoon heat overwhelms, it's easy to grab a towel and head down to the beach—or hop on the train near this Sicily vacation rental for an excursion. We recommend taking a boat to the Aeolian islands, just off the coast, as an extra-special treat.

Situated in the heart of the seaside town of Capo d'Orlando, this comfortable 2nd floor attic apartment enjoys easy access to great shopping and the beach. It is just 100 m from the beach and train station. A few steps away there are boutiques, supermarkets, a bakery, and a the Villa Ingrilli park. A number of nearby bars offer room service. The nearest airports are Reggio Calabria (120 km), Palermo (180 km), and Catania (180 km). From Reggio Calabria there are connections to Capo d'Orlando by boat and bus. In the summer months, there is a bus connection from Catania to Capo d'Orlando. Airport transfers can be arranged on request. Mountain bike rentals, rental cars, and airport transfer by minivan can be arranged upon request for an extra cost. Continental breakfast service is available on request for 4 Euros per person per day.

(60m2) 2nd floor: The entrance leads into a living room with a satellite TV, a sofa bed, a desk, and climate control unit. There is a spacious, well equipped eat-in kitchen and a large terrace (36m2) furnished with table and chairs for al fresco dining. Two folding screens separate the living room from the first bedroom with two single beds. There is a double bedroom with a king-size bed and en suite bathroom with tub and handheld shower head. There is an additional bathroom with shower. The amenities include: oven, freezer, washing machine, iron, ironing board, satellite TV, air conditioner (with extra surcharge), safe with electronic key. Extra amenities include: housekeeping and breakfast service. A baby bed and high chair are available for 30 euros per week.

Overall:
The manager was wonderful. He and his son took us for a
get-aquainted ride around town, gave us names and maps of restaurants, and
helped us find a place to stay after we left the property. Very nice family.
The property was wonderful for two people, but would have been snug for
four or more.
Enjoyed Most:
The balcony was wonderful. We were able to sit out and enjoy overlooking
the town and the life of the neighborhood.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The living room furniture was not very comfortable.
Surrounding Area:
The area was beautiful, the beach very close, and the orange blossom smell was everywhere.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was walking distance away and very charming. We were able to get on the train a block from the house and explore much of Sicily.
Tips or Restaurants:
Many small restaurants around town were wonderful. Good idea to be prepared
for different hours of being open and closed than in the U.S.
Directions:
The people of the town were very helpful. Roads go every which way!
We were early, and the dry cleaners were very helpful; they called the manager and
he came right away.

Enjoyed Most:
Paolo and Theresa went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The sundeck was beautiful. The position in the town was really central. The property was spotless.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The second bedroom is only a tiny alcove off the lounge. It would be fine for a couple and two children but was not particularly suitable for two couples. Ok for us but on the third floor, which might not be suitable for older people
Surrounding Area:
The proximity to the beach and the town was fantastic
Nearby Events or Locales:
Capo d'Orlando and within walking distance
Tips or Restaurants:
Flying Cafe - the people were friendly and the food great. Also a great restaurant about 10-15 kms away, La Pizzietta, at Gioiosa Marea. For those visiting Taormina, which is magnificent, Al Borghetto had sensational traditional Sicilian food.

Overall:
The balcony was huge and beautiful, but not covered, so could only be enjoyed in the evening.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very clean and comfortable and contained a safety deposit box. The kitchen was very spacious and the bathrooms were very nice, very clean new and nicely decorated.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The street number and name of the apartment were not clearly marked and thus a little confusing to find.
Surrounding Area:
Walking distance from the beach. Cute little piazza nearby. Very close to town- restaurants and bars.
Tips or Restaurants:
Excursion to Aeolian islands, off the coast, is a must!
Sunsets are fabulous.
Check In Out:
Very helpful even got a little tour of the city.
