Overall:
We loved all the outdoor eating possibilities and the well equipped kitchen. The kitchen had more cooking utensils than I have in any of my homes.
Enjoyed Most:
The beauty of the pool area, privacy and the quiet. The friendly, humorous, efficient owner. We will return with our whole family if possible.
Unpleasant Surprises:
No dryer for clothes,;clothes line in October does not always guarantee dry clothes.
Surrounding Area:
The best dining experiences at the castle and the neighborhood winery. Located in the middle of the most beautiful part of the Chianti valley.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lusignano was a small winery with a great restaurant. You could walk, but we always drove. We ate there 3 times.
Tips or Restaurants:
Extra wash clothes. I brought 6, but washer is not available for towels--so I could have used more.
Check In Out:
Our host was willing to meet us for an early departure. He was always on time.

Overall:
We had the most amazing, special vacation here! We traveled with two small children and hosted some relatives and friends during our stay. The house and area were so special. I hope to return again soon!
Enjoyed Most:
The grounds of the house are incredible! The pictures do not do this property justice. The house is located in a beautiful valley with extremely well-cared for grounds. As you lounge by the pool you overlook vineyards. Our kids loved the stream that ran through the property and all of our guests enjoyed the variety of outdoor eating venues. The owners were amazingly friendly, responsive and accommodating. The house is in wonderful condition with many thoughtful details. This is a great property!
Unpleasant Surprises:
The location has its positives and negatives. On a positive note, the remoteness of the house makes it truly special. You are in the middle of the beautiful Tuscan countryside, away from all bustle. On a less positive note, it took quite a bit of hilly driving to get anywhere. We found it took us longer than I had anticipated to reach other tourist destinations such as Florence, Montalcino, and Montepulciano all about an hour and a half drive. The house was well-situated for Siena, Radda and the southern Chianti region. If you hope to be visiting a lot of major cities outside of this immediate region, you need to anticipate drives over one hour. With that said, we found many beautiful villages and wineries closer to our home base and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the house and immediate vicinity.
Surrounding Area:
Every morning we took an outing to either a local village, castle, or winery followed by a nice lunch. We would then return to the house for an afternoon swim followed by dinner at the house. Some of our favorite outings included Siena, Radda, Castello Brolio, Monsanto winery, Montalcino, Volpaia winery, Badia Coltibuono, and Vignamaggio winery.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The house is located about halfway between Radda and Siena, approximately 20-30 minutes drive to each. Both are fabulous towns!
Tips or Restaurants:
Read the description for the bathrooms carefully. They are very accurate and the bathrooms are very nice, however in the main house you have 4 bedrooms and only 2 bathrooms located in the hall, 1 of which has a bath only and the other a shower. I was surprised that our guests did not seem to want to use the bath. We ended up having to share the shower more than I would have anticipated which made the bathroom situation more communal than ideal. The situation ended up working fine for us, but you should think through if it works for your party. The house has absolutely EVERYTHING! The guest house is also very nice. Favorite restaurants included: Badia Coltibuono, Le Vigne in Radda, and Poggio Antico in Montalcino.

Overall:
A beautiful, tranquil spot.
Enjoyed Most:
Great house for a large group as there were lots of rooms, dishes to prepare meals, tables to dine at (both inside and out) and a lovely pool.
Unpleasant Surprises:
No view of the Tuscan hills as it was in a small valley by a stream. Surrounding Area:
It is situated in the Chianti hills so good restaurants, vineyards and spectacular scenery nearby.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucignano, where there is a restaurant but no food stores. Pianella is the nearest town with amenities and is approximately 4km and you needed a car to get there.
Tips or Restaurants:
The owner who is charming and helpful has equipped the house very well and has a list of good restaurants in the area. He is also available by cell phone to help if needed.
Check In Out:
The owner and his wife were there and it was a great process.
