Overall:
It is a fabulous property. I was in charge of choosing it for other 4 women plus myself. All of us had very high expectations, and gave me the highest marks for finding this one!!! It will be a hard one to top.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa was HUGE!! We were thrilled at the size, the view, the amenities, the layout. Our group was 5 women and we were very comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. We LOVED the location of the smaller town between the two better known and populated destinations. It was truly a place to call home when we returned from our daily travels and we actually wanted to spend time "at home" several days just to enjoy being in this lovely space.
Unpleasant Surprises:
It is very hard to find a downside. Compared to the other rooms, the kitchen is a bit small......but very workable for our needs and well equipped. A few light bulbs needed to be replaced...I am really grasping for something, because basically it was PERFECT!!!!
Surrounding Area:
The Amalfi coast is jaw-dropping. This was my fifth trip to Italy, but the first to this area and the views every day were astounding. We travelled to Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Capri and Pompeii on our way from Rome. Perhaps due to the time of year, just after the end of tourist season, our party of 5 women just loved our little town of Praiano. We made so many personal contacts and new friends by the end of the week and we have the feeling that we made quite an impact on them, as well!!
Nearby Events or Locales:
The villa is in the village of Praiano, as described previously. It had been described as "a sleepy little fishing village". I wouldn't quite say that, although it certainly isn't the hustle and bustle of Positano or Amalfi. The people are friendly and willing to help call Gennarino the taxi driver listed in the book....tell him the 5 American women sent you!!. Go to "Il Tutto per Tutti" aka the "Tutti-Fruity", the market up the street from the villa. They have everything you will need for the week, including great local wine for 3.90 Euro. There are several very good restaurants in town - Smeraldo and, even better, the one across the street and upstairs whose name I cannot recall - great food and pie and THE VERY BEST VIEW anywhere!!! Also, don't skip Marina de Priano - to walk it is a real experience. Ask about Rafaello's boat to Capri that leaves from there.

Overall:
It was everything I had hoped for. The only issue I had is that while I was looking for a quiet fishing village, there is only one road that goes around the coast so the traffic was still way too congested.
Enjoyed Most:
The space was great. Each bedroom had its own patio and view of the bay.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The entry from the walkway was somewhat trashy.
Surrounding Area:
Peaceful, friendly people easy access to the bus, markets, and walkable.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You could walk to Praiano.
Tips or Restaurants:
Paradise restaurant was great

Did not arrive in Naples, I came across Italy from Giovanazzo, Puglia. Drive on Road 163 very long due to traffic, advise to travel early morning.
