Location Description

This apartment building is located in a characteristic and quiet alley in the heart of historical Siracusa (Syracuse), on Ortigia. Separated from the land by a small channel, Ortigia Island is the site of the original Greek city; its ancient streets are best explored on foot. The apartment itself is within a stone's throw of Aretusa Fountain (inspiration to both Ovid and Virgil) and the Piazza Duomo with its cathedral, two key sites within the pseudo-island. Within the heart of Ortigia, countless palazzos line the streets, once homes of the Sicilian aristocracy. Maniace Castle is located on the southern tip of the island. Also in the area is Neapolis Archeological Park, 240,000 square meters of Greek and Roman ruins, including Dionysus' Ear, a cavern with amazing acoustic properties, and the ruins of a huge Greek amphitheatre.

Exterior Description

This apartment building is situated an 18th century palazzo, which was completely refurbished in 2004 to provide all the modern amenities. The roof of this palazzo is a shared sun terrace with lounges, where guests can enjoy the sun and beautiful sea and city views. There is no elevator.

Interior Description

(46 m2) First Floor (with elevator): This two-room apartment is nicely decorated and features a 160 cm queen-size bed in the main room, along with a table for four and a small kitchenette with a fridge, sink, and cook-top. There is also one bedroom with a 160 cm queen-size bed. One bathroom has a sink, toilet, and shower.
