Location Description

This villa is located in the village of Deliana, about 500 meters from the town square. Deliana is a picturesque village in a valley filled with olive groves, and resources in town include coffee shops, three taverns, and a butcher. Not far away is the larger village of Kolimbari (or Kolymbari), whose main feature is a long pebble beach. Here there are several good restaurants and shops. This is also the location of the Gonias monastery, originating in the 13th century. The buildings date from the 17th century and are still in full use. (Visitors are welcome but shorts are not! Photos are not permitted inside.) The nearest large city is Chania, one of the most picturesque cities on the island. Sporting architecture from its Turkish and Venetian occupiers, the town is bordered by fortified walls and the waterfront, where there is a Venetian lighthouse. Shopping here is great, particularly for leather and jewelry.

Exterior Description

(1,500 m2) In the hands of the same family for four generations, this villa has been carefully maintained. In the midst of a large garden with fruit trees and herbs, the villa features a private swimming pool (60m2, 1.1-1.8m deep), a traditional outdoor oven, and a terrace with a view over the valley. On the left of this villa, there is another house belonging to a local family who only spend a few days a year there. On the right side of the villa are many olive trees. Because of its situation within a valley and the thick walls of the house, this villa remains cool in the hotter months. Parking space for two cars is available in front and behind the villa.

Interior Description

(140 m2)
First Floor: Entering on the upper floor, you will find yourself in a hallway. To the left there is a living/dining room with a couch and a dining table for six. From the living room there are two steps into another hall with a fireplace, leading into the kitchen with access onto the courtyard barbecue area. The kitchen is equipped with a small dishwasher, oven, cook-top, coffee maker, and toaster. To the right of the entry hall, there are two bedrooms. The first has a 160 cm queen-size bed, while the second has two single beds. There is also a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. By the kitchen there is a third bedroom with a 160 cm queen-size bed. There is also a bathroom with a sink, toilet, tub, and shower.
Ground Floor: An external staircase leads downstairs, where there are two more bedrooms. One has a 160 cm queen-size bed and the other has one single bed. They share a bathroom with a sink, toilet, bathtub, and shower. This floor leads directly onto the garden and pool area.
