Location Description

This villa is situated on the outskirts of the village of Episkopi, within walking distance of town and a short drive to the longest sandy beach of Crete. Episkopi remains largely untouched by tourism, making this an excellent place for an authentic vacation. Because of its historical significance as the onetime bishopric, you’ll find many Byzantine churches dating back to the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. In town there is a bakery, a pastry shop, a butcher shop, and some small supermarkets. If you prefer eating out, there are taverns and “kafeneia,” or traditional Greek cafes. There is also a post office, bank, pharmacy, medical center, gas and police stations, and a bus station. If you’re looking for more active entertainment, 20 minutes’ drive takes you to the golf course in Hersonissos, and you’re also less than 10 minutes’ drive from Watercity, one of Europe’s largest water parks. You’ll also want to go into Rethymnon to sample Cretan cuisine and to visit the sixteenth century Venetian Fortezza, imposing in itself but also the location of the annual Rethymnon Renaissance Festival. If you’re interested in the history of the island you may also want to step into the Historical and Folk Art Museum for a taste of traditional Cretan ceramics, textiles, artifacts, jewelry, and clothing from across the centuries.

Exterior Description

(2.5 hectares) Situated on a hill surrounded by 2.5 hectares (6 acres) of trees and flowers, this villa has an aerial view of the Cretan sea. In the garden there is a private swimming pool (10m x 5m) with sun lounges, as well as a barbecue and several areas with chairs for relaxing or dining outdoors. The property is surrounded by olive trees, without any other houses nearby, making this a very private setting. Parking is available.

Interior Description

Ground Floor: When you enter this villa, you will find yourself in a small lounge area with sofa and chairs. On your left is the large main living room, with a satellite TV, DVD player, stereo, and fireplace. Just right of the main living room is a hall leading into the kitchen, equipped with all necessary facilities including a microwave, oven, cook-top, toaster and dishwasher. There is also a small bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.
First Floor: In the center of the ground floor is a staircase leading up to the first floor, where there are five bedrooms. The first and second bedrooms each have a 160 cm queen-size bed. The third, fourth, and fifth bedrooms each have two 100 cm single beds. There are two bathrooms; one with a sink, toilet, and large Jacuzzi tub with handheld showerhead, the other with a sink, toilet, and shower.
