Come experience life in Crete with this villa for rent near the quiet, cliff-side village of Roussospiti. With a private pool, landscaped garden, and covered porch, this villa provides plenty of opportunities for unwinding and enjoying the dramatic views after exploring nearby Rethymnon, scouting out ancient ruins, or combing the island’s long, sandy beaches. For large groups, this villa can be rented together with Villa Creon, which is a few meters away, to accommodate six additional guests.

Location Description

This villa is located up a winding road in a quiet, peaceful location with stunning views of Crete’s coast and the sea. Traditional tavernas and some small markets are a short stroll away, as is the small, cliff-side village of Roussosopiti, which offers a taste of traditional island life nearly untouched by modern tourism. The villa offers convenient access to other parts of the island. An easy ten minute drive away, Rethymnon, the capital city of the province, provides connections to mainland Greece, as well as a unique and picturesque Old Town with narrow streets, Venetian palaces, and Turkish minarets. There are countless other sights to see in town, including a Venetian Fortezza (where an annual renaissance festival is held), the harbor, restaurants, cafes, and a fine sandy beach-- the longest in Crete, stretching for several kilometers! If you’re interested in the history of the island you can step into the Historical and Folk Art Museum for a taste of traditional Cretan ceramics, textiles, artifacts, jewelry, and clothing from across the centuries.

Exterior Description

This villa is built on a sloping landscape within a wonderful rural setting of lush gardens filled with bougainvilleas, hibiscus, pines, roses, and fruit trees. In the distance is a view of the northern coast of Crete from Rethymnon's port to Chania's bay. The surrounding area is a haven of peace and tranquility, in which the natural terrain is used efficiently to provide privacy and autonomy for each of the villas in this development. This villa has its own 40 m2 private swimming pool, constructed with sky-blue tiles and accompanied by an umbrella, chaise lounges, a dining table, barbecue, and an outdoor shower. There is ample parking space. A car is necessary to explore the island. A paved road leads to the entrance of the development, and a traditional tavern is located about 20 meters away from the entrance.

Interior Description

(140 m2) First Floor: A staircase leads up to the first-floor entrance of this villa, where you will enter into a spacious living area with stylish, comfortable furniture and a cozy fireplace. The living room opens onto an airy veranda, fully equipped with wooden garden tables and chairs. Open to the right, a fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, and microwave, while the dining area has a table seating up to eight. The open floor plan provides the living/dining/kitchen areas with spectacular views of the coast and the old town of Rethymnon. Three steps above the living area, there is a master bedroom featuring a 160 cm queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub. The room has a private balcony with impressive views of the rolling hills. A second double bed room featuring a picturesque corner window has a 160 cm queen-size bed and ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub with showerhead. The third room has two single beds and its own balcony. This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub with showerhead.
(75 m2) Ground Floor: An internal staircase leads down to a guest apartment with a spacious living room, kitchenette, two twin-bedded rooms, and a separate bathroom with shower and toilet.
