About The Experience
Situated in the picturesque Arno Valley, this Tuscany vacation rental is absolutely the perfect property for a family or friends traveling together! Secluded behind olive groves, grape fields, and flowers, this apartment villa in Tuscany is within a beautiful garden with a swimming pool. Go wine tasting in San Gimignano, visit the museums in Florence, or stay locally and have an authentic Italian meal while taking advantage of spending the holidays in Tuscany!
Location Description
San Miniato is the nearest town to the property and it is located seven kilometers away. Halfway between Pisa and Florence, this medieval town in the Arno Valley is situated on a hilltop and features an ancient cathedral with both Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Next to the cathedral is the Diocesan Museums, definitely worth a visit for its original Fra' Filippo Lippi paintings. San Miniato is also known for being one of the biggest truffle producers in Europe and to honor this, the National White Truffle Market is held in town during the last three weeks of November where guests can eat, drink, and experience the local cuisine. There are shops, markets, and restaurants in town as well. San Gimignano is a great place to go for a day trip. As one of the most visited towns in Tuscany, it is known for its rich history dating back to the Etruscan times. Popular attractions include the famous towers, the 12th century Duomo, the People's Palace, and several museums dedicated to artwork and archeology. There are also plenty of wine tasting tours, art galleries, shops, and delicious restaurants. Other day trip possibilities include Lucca, Florence, and Pisa.

    Customer Reviews

    Overall:
We realy enjoyed the property and found that it was good value for the money. It was very convenient to Florence and many of the hill top towns of Tuscany
    Enjoyed Most:
It was large and comfortable for three couples and it was very rustic. The interior was very charming. Wine produced on the estate was very good and the manager was very friendly and helpful.
    Unpleasant Surprises:
Tuscany is famous for its flies; even with screens we had our share.
    Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed going to the hill top towns and into Florence by train.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
There was no close town or restaurant and we would have liked to have been able to walk to one. We did find a nearby COOP which had all the groceries one could need so we were able to cook some nice meals.
    Tips or Restaurants:
This is a geat place to get away from the noise.
    Directions:
Bring a GPS. Ours workrd great.
