About The Experience

An extended family or group of friends can experience living in Villa Apartments on the Amalfi Coast. Charming apartments in a century old villa set on a lush hillside of the Sorrento peninsula facing the island of Capri. The villa has been restored and converted into four private apartments, of which these three are available for rental. The apartments share the beautiful garden, swimming pool, outside BBQ and nearby parking. Lots of flexibility and a beautiful environment. No air conditioning is necessary because the old walls of the villa are more than 1 meter thick and it is very refreshing during the hot summers. A charming hamlet with two good restaurants and small shops is nearby. The owner recommends a compact car due to the very narrow road leading up to the villa.

Location Description

The villa is in a quiet country location but is close to many sites on the Amalfi Coast. It has a premiere setting on a wooded Sorrento hillside and overlooks the coastline and Island of Capri. The villa is 2 kilometers away from the town of Massa Lubrense, which is land of the mythical Ulysses and the Sirens and today has restaurants, shops, markets, and places to buy olive oil. There are also excellent pizzerias, mini-markets, and a discotheque. A short drive away, there’s the lovely seaside town of Sorrento, which is famous for its limoncello (an alcoholic aperitif) and inlaid wood – you can visit one of the workshops still in operation today to see this centuries-old craft in action. Other Sorrento attractions include the 10th century Basilica di San Antonio, which was built to honor the patron saint of navigators and still attracts sailors’ offerings to this day. The 11th century Cathedral houses frescoes and a bell tower with a ceramic clock. The "Sorrento Summer of Music" is also held at the cloisters from July to September, and features international musicians performing alongside of emerging talents. The towns of the Amalfi coast like Positano and the island of Capri make good day trips.

Exterior Description

This beautiful, century-old villa is on a wooded hillside on the Sorrento Peninsula and has excellent coastal views. The villa has been restored and converted into four private apartments. There is a lovely garden, large swimming pool, BBQ corner, and wood oven that is available for all guests. The shared swimming pool has lounge chairs.

Interior Description

Erica 1: Sleeps 2 - 3 (connected to Erica 2)
There are two floors to this apartment. The first floor has a small kitchen with a balcony and spiral staircase down to the garden and swimming pool. There is also a big living room on the first floor with access to the panoramic terrace that has beautiful views of Capri. The living room has a spiral staircase to the second floor. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. One of the bedrooms has a standard double (145 cm mattress – cozy for two, more comfortable for one person) and the other bedroom has a narrow single bed (80 cm mattress) appropriate for a child. The bathroom has a shower.

Erica 2: Sleeps 4 (connected to Erica 1)
There are two floors to this apartment. The first floor has a hallway, kitchen and living room with fireplace. The living room has a large private terrace with garden furniture and overlooks the Napoli coastline. The spiral staircase leads down to the garden and swimming pool. There are steps to the second floor where two bedrooms and two bathrooms are located. One of the bedrooms has a queen-sized bed (160 cm mattress) and the other bedroom has two narrow single beds (80 cm mattress) appropriate for children. The queen-sized bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower. There is also another bathroom near the twin-bedroom.

Erica 3: Sleeps 2 - 3
Has a big living room with fireplace and separate kitchen. The living room leads directly out into the garden. It features a large dining table and has ample seating. The kitchen is fully equipped and features lots of tile and rock. There are two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is a double room with a queen-sized bed (160 cm mattress). The other bedroom has one narrow single bed (80 cm mattress) appropriate for a child. There is one bathroom and shower. The rooms have arched doorways and walls. This apartment is only available as a rental unit from May 1 to October 31.
