Overall:
The overall experience was great. We used the villa for a group of 6, and it worked out perfectly.
Enjoyed Most:
We enjoyed the locale quite a bit. You really are in the country, with a beautiful view and quiet nights. The pool (and its awesome view) is also a nice touch. The caretaker was also unbelievably helpful and nice. For example, wine, cheese, and fresh eggs were left for us upon our arrival. He also gave us driving directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.
Enjoyed Least:
It could have been because we were there around harvest time for the grapes, but we had a problem with flies (not mosquitoes). It wasn't that bad, but we noticed it and had to be careful.
Surrounding Area:
It is a great location, particularly if you want to visit both Umbria and Tuscany. We visited Montepulciano, Siena, Montalcino, Perugia, Panicale, Castiglione Lago, etc. We also took the train into Florence. The train station in Chiusi (off the Rome to Florence line) is quite convenient.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town is the old town center of Chianciano Terme. You will need a car.

Overall:
We had a marvelous time at the villa. Perfectly located with a great host. Besides being everything we were looking for in terms of beauty, location, cleanliness, accommodations, pool, Tuscan view...we were very happy to find that Raffaele, our excellent host, was there to help us arrange everything we needed including private wine tastings and fresh cherries. Marcella came over one night and made a tremendous Tuscan dinner with excellent wine. Lorenzo offered translations and suggestions for places to visit. The location made for great trips to all the wonderful "old towns". The marvelous cat, Stella, made it a lasting memory. Highly recommend.
Enjoyed Most:
Besides the great location (near town but out in the vineyards), the villa is quiet and has both a swimming pool and a tremendous view of the surrounding hillsides.
Surrounding Area:
The villa is centrally located near most all the Tuscan towns and locations. We made easy drives to many lovely spots and with the help of Lorenzo he made it even more special. Lorenzo took us on a tour one day to all the wonderful stops and of course, great wine locations.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We made the morning drive into Chianciano Terme to the local market.
Tips or Restaurants:
Raffaele ensured we had everything we needed and if not, found it for us.
Directions:
Had a GPS but it was not really needed. You should have one just in case, though.

Overall:
We had an amazing month. The villa hosts, Raffaele and Lorenzo, went above and beyond to ensure that we had an enjoyable vacation and we really appreciate all of their thoughtful efforts. Raffaele, the villa host, brought us many amazing local foods and meals, which were so appreciated and delicious!
Enjoyed Most:
Peaceful, amazing sunsets, modern bathrooms (great soaker tub with jets), very private, nice yard and house. Well equipped kitchen. We liked the open floor plan with dining room table and couch area, which was helpful for keeping an eye on our small children. Also, the screened windows to keep the bugs out.
Enjoyed Least:
We went in May and the pool wasn't heated, so we didn't swim.
Surrounding Area:
Amazing hilltowns, views, food, wine and very friendly, kind people.
Nearby Events or Locales:
A car is needed for this place. Also best way to see surrounding areas is by either car or bike (if you are up for a lot of exercise).
Tips or Restaurants:
We went in May for 1 month, and it was cold at night in the house. The heating system had been turned off, so we had to buy warmer clothes once there for the evenings. It turns out that the heating system could have been turned on, so it's worth sorting out the cost to do this up front. The house has radiant floor heating, so once system was on, the floors were nice and warm and house was warm, too--only wish we had known about it sooner!
Spending 1 month there, we found some fabulous restaurants. Worth checking in your travel guides which days they are open, as some we tried to get into were closed random days mid week, and every place seemed to have different days closed and hours. Worth checking first before trekking out to find one.
Also, we travelled with a 3 yr old and 5 month old who went to bed around 7-7:30, and most restaurants don't open till 7:30, so dining at night wasn't very possible. We dined out at lunch, which worked very well!
Directions:
Directions into and through Chianciano were excellent, but could have been more clear once you leave town. We flagged someone down on the road when we arrived the first day.
