- About The Experience
When a couple comes to Paris, one thing they definitely deserve is romance. A stroll along the Seine, the sharing of a chocolate croissant, and a visit to Eiffel Tower are all part of that and can be experienced at this apartment in the Marais. The Louvre and Notre are nearby and the Eiffel Tower can be reached via a quick metro ride.
- Location Description
This apartment is located in the heart of the Marais, which stretches across the third and fourth arrondissements of Paris. Characterized by the impressive mansions (or Hotels Particuliers) of the 17th and early 18th century, this neighborhood was originally the residences of aristocratic families. The surrounding Marais is not just an historic quarter, it is also filled with trendy boutiques and cafes, as well as the kosher shops in the Jewish neighborhood around the Rue des Rosiers. Rue Saint Martin is also full of stores and galleries. Nearby attractions include the Hotel de Ville, Place des Vosges, the Georges Pompidou Centre, the Stravinsky Fountain, Musee Carnavalet, Musee Picasso, Victor Hugo's house, Notre Dame, and the Louvre. The nearest metro stops are Sully-Morland and Bastille.
Nearby Attractions:The city of Paris! Explore Paris on foot to find the hidden treasures of the city of light. Unknown too many are the Beehives of the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg – hit the beehives at the right time in the fall and you’ll be able to purchase the honey. The popular cocktail bar, Les Etages, has two “branches”, one located in the Marais; the other in St Germain. The covered market, Marche St.-Quentin, dates back to 1860, and has 30 plus stalls of mouth- watering cheese, baked goods, meats and more. La Perlerie is a tiny store offering bronze and silver bracelet and necklace charms and you can assemble your jewelry right in the store. For some of the best steak frites of Paris, stop by Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, known simply as l’Entrecôte, but expect a wait of at least a half-hour.

Overall:
We had a great time in Paris.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very centrally located and easy to walk to lots of places as well as being close to shops and restaurants.
Enjoyed Least:
The narrow spiral stair case. It made getting the suitcases up the stairs difficult.
Surrounding Area:
It was so typically Paris with wonderful buildings and quaint shops and restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
The little restaurant almost across the street called Le Dindon en Laisse was not much to look at but the food was excellent and very well priced. It is clearly a favorite with the locals and we ate there twice. It had excellent reviews on the internet and I would highly recommend it.
We also had 2 wonderful meals at L'Epouvantail on Rue de Jarente which is only a couple of blocks away.
The apartment has everything you might need except for a microwave but that is not really a necessity. Comfortable walking shoes are a must as there is so much to see and a lot of it is best seen by walking.
Directions:
We took a cab from the train station.

Overall:
Great! My Rentvillas Travel Advisor was a fantastic help! We loved our little flat in Paris, the breeze up there was magnificent, and the courtyard was so charming! Just what we wanted! As a matter of fact we got engaged while looking out the living room window at the garden! Loved it!
Enjoyed Most:
The bathroom was great, location on street was awesome!
Enjoyed Least:
The bed wasn't too comfortable, but I hear that all the beds in Europe are similar.
Surrounding Area:
The markets! cafes, diners, and wine shops just outside the door. We felt like we were really a part of the community!
Nearby Events or Locales:
We walked pretty much everywhere, only took cabs to and from the airport. We were able to easily access both sides of town.
Tips or Restaurants:
Cafe Francais on Rue Rivoli was wonderful. The little bakery just outside the apartment has the best Quiche Lorraine, and don't forget the beautiful little park across Rivoli for a stroll in the evening!
Check In Out:
It was wonderful! We had such a long trip and we very late meeting him at the flat, but he was so welcoming and clear with instructions.
