About The Experience

Not only will you love the exterior of this beautiful stone villa, but you will enjoy the comfortable furnishings. This is a wine producing estate, so you can expect vistas of vineyard clad hills, as well as the opportunity to purchase the wine. The location is well suited for day trips to the small towns of Poppi and Bibbiena, as well as beautiful Arezzo and Cortona. Lake Trasimento, Umbria, and Florence are also interesting day trips.

Location Description

The property is 900 meters from Subbiano, a characteristic Tuscan village on the left bank of the Arno. Here you will find a Monday morning market, and if you're traveling in September you may be in time to join with the locals in their celebration of the grape festival, with product tasting and other traditional activities. The Museo dell Casa Contadina (farmhouse museum) is worth a visit, and you should also keep on the lookout for the remains of numerous water mills along the banks of the Arno. However, you'll probably spend most of your local hours exploring Arezzo, the charming town used as the backdrop for Roberto Benigni's "Life is Beautiful." Once one of the most important Etruscan cities, today Arezzo is beautiful for an array of architecture spanning centuries, from Etruscan ruins to the Roman amphitheatre and the Medici Fortress. The first weekend of each month brings a popular antique fair, while annually there is a festival called "Joust of the Saracens," where all of the citizens dress in medieval attire and knights representing each part of the city charge at a target representing a Saracen king. The area is also well-situated for day trips throughout Tuscany. Florence can be reached in 30 minutes by train from Arezzo; a train to Rome takes about an hour and ten minutes.

This villa is situated in the quiet hills surrounding Arezzo on a large estate that is partially farmed and cultivated with vineyards that produces a nice wine (which is available for purchase). There is a covered terrace with a barbecue, table, and chairs. A landscaped garden features a private swimming pool (6m x 12m), open from early May to the end of September, that is surrounded by a grass lawn with sun loungers. An unpaved but well-maintained road leads to the property and covered parking (150m2) is available within the grounds.

Ground Floor: The entrance leads to a living room with a couch, armchairs, satellite TV, and DVD player. A dining room has a table with chairs and the kitchen is equipped with a cook-top, oven, toaster, American coffee maker, and dishwasher. The kitchen also has access to the terrace. There is one bedroom with two single beds (90 cm) (which can be connected upon prior request) and one bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.

First Floor: A staircase leads up to four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The first, second, and third bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed (160 cm) and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The fourth bedroom has two single beds (90 cm) and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.
