Old and new come together at this Barcelona apartment. This holiday accommodation is located in the city’s oldest neighborhood, the Gothic Quarter, and yet the apartment itself is furnished with all of today’s modern comforts. You might want to take a stroll to one of the restaurants down the street (muy delicioso!) or pick up some fresh ingredients at the nearby market to test your culinary skills. Las Ramblas is also just a walk away.

Location Description

This apartment is located in the beautiful and historical Gothic Quarter. Filled with narrow, winding streets that are filled with things to see and do. You’ll find many restaurants, markets, and shops, including unique boutiques on Calle Avinvo. The Placa Reial is the main square in the Gothic Quarter and has many restaurants and nightlife hotspots. Le Merce is an annual summer festival held here in which there are open-air concerts although it’s a popular place year-round for various events and activities. The Placa Reial connects the Gothic Quarter to Las Ramblas, Barcelona’s most famous boulevard with shops, restaurants, and markets (including La Boqueria). Other sites in this neighborhood include the Palau Reial Major, the former residence of Catalonia’s royal family, and the Palace of Catalan Music, a UNESCO World Heritage site known as the most modernista building in the world. Although most of the city’s top attractions are within walking distance, the metro stops are Urquinaona and Jaume 1.

Nearby Attractions: Barcelona is a mecca of art, architecture, ports, beaches, and restaurants. Ca l’Isidre (reservations required!), offers fresh and traditional Catalan cooking. For a meal of tapas, visit Cal Pep, located near Santa Maria del Mar, Barcelona’s Gothic church. The Bus Turistic (Hop-on/Hop-off tour) offers two lines that stop at over 44 sites within the city. The works of Gaudi, including Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, and Casa Batlló, are not to be missed. Seek out the loop of Carrer dels Escudellers, named for the early potters, and which has an assortment of restaurants, shops and a flea market on Saturdays.

First Floor (with elevator): There is a combined living and dining room with a sofa bed (most suitable for one), a flat-screen TV (local channels only), DVD player, French doors that open to the balcony, and a table with chairs. The open kitchen is equipped with a cook-top, oven, coffee maker, juice, toaster, and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed (160 cm) and an en suite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The second bedroom has two single beds (90 cm). The second bathroom has a sink, toilet, and shower.
