This quaint Tuscan accommodation is set high and a hill and surrounded by large, beautiful grounds with a gorgeous swimming pool. The views are divine, especially from the first floor balcony. The central location of this holiday rental in the Valdichiana will allow you and your family to easily visit many wonderful areas of Tuscany.
- Location Description
The property is located six kilometers from Foiano della Chiana where you'll find a golf course, restaurants, and shops, but its claim to fame is its annual carnival which first began in the year 1539 and is the oldest in Italy. The four districts of the town (Bombolo, Azzurri, Rustici, and Nottambuli) compete for the Carnival’s Cup by trying to build the most impressive and creative float. The ancient Etruscan town of Cortona is a short drive away and is full of art, history, and culture. Tour frescoed churches from the 13th century; explore the original city walls, and then visit an art exhibit in the 16th century fortress. You are also sure to find restaurants featuring delicious Tuscan dishes and ancient sarcophagi dating back to the second century BC. There are plenty of local shops selling antiques, crafts, wines, and olive oils. Other great day trip destinations include Arezzo, Castiglion Fiorentina, Montepulciano, and Siena.

- Exterior Description
This villa is situated in the Valdichiana and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. There is a barbecue on the ground floor and a small balcony on the first floor, which is furnished with a table and two chairs. A private swimming pool (12m x 6m), open from the beginning of may to the end of September, is surrounded by a sun deck. Parking is available within the property grounds.
- Interior Description
Ground Floor: There is a combined living and dining room with cushioned bench seating, a fireplace, and a table with chairs. The kitchen corner is equipped with a cook-top, oven, American coffee maker, and dishwasher. There are three bedrooms on this floor. The first and second bedrooms each have a king-sized bed (170 cm) and an en suite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The third bedroom has two single beds (90 cm).
First Floor: A staircase leads up to one bedroom with a king-sized bed (170 cm), a private balcony with a table and two chairs, and an en suite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.

Overall:
The villa was everything I expected and more. The pictures don't do it justice. It was immaculate and very comfortable for our family of 7. The family that owns it is fabulous. We can't wait to go back again!
Enjoyed Most:
The views of the surrounding area took my breath away. I would open the upstairs window every morning and just stare out at the views for about 10 minutes, taking it all in. The infinity pool was also magnificent.
Surrounding Area:
We totally enjoyed visiting all the small surrounding towns in our area, experiencing the food and wine in several of them.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Foiano della Chiana. It was about a 5-10 minute car ride.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring pool towels. We thought the villa came with them, but it didn't. We did not have one bad meal in Tuscany, so try all those in the surrounding towns - don't be afraid, you'll definitely be pleased.
Directions:
The directions we received from the owner were perfect. Due to the villa's location (on top of a hill), we saw the villa way before we pulled up to it's driveway.
Check In Out:
We just want to commend the owners on their friendly, open, pleasant way they had about them throughout our stay. Whenever we had a question, Barbara would text right back to us with answers or if we knocked on Catia's door, she gladly helped us out with whatever it was we needed.

Overall:
The visit at the villa was perfect! We spent our 50th wedding anniversary there. The villa is well-kept as is the pool and property. We shared some time with the owners and found them hospitable and friendly and a very nice family. We would recommend this villa to any one looking to stay in Tuscany.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool, the fields of sunflowers, and--perhaps the absolute best--view day and night.
Surrounding Area:
Majestic. We loved the surrounding little towns and restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
No not in waking distance. You will need a car to get to the surrounding towns.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa is stocked with dishes, pots and pans. One would need to shop for food and paper products
Directions:
No, we did not have a GPS. We had directions from the rental agency and also the telephone number which we did have to call to reach the villa once we were nearby.

Overall:
Our overall experience at the villa was just shy of perfection! The care and attention to detail provided by our hosts exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend this property and would love to return in the future - for 2 weeks next time!
Enjoyed Most:
The peaceful and private location, along with the incredible views of farm fields covered in sunflowers, with towns dotted throughout the horizon (particularly aglow at night). The pool was excellent and it was where we spent most of our time.
Enjoyed Least:
While the living room was quite comfortable, it didn't have enough (comfortable) seating for 8 people. Nobody tended to sit on the benches beside the fireplace.
Surrounding Area:
While the villa is somewhat remote, it was a quick drive to neighbouring towns (Cortona, Lucignano, etc.) and day trips to Florence, Siena, Montepulciano and Pisa were easy. We managed to see quite a lot during our week at the villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Foiano Della Chiana was the closest town but we could not walk there. It was a short drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
We packed beach towels and were happy we did so we didn't have to use our bath towels. The kitchen is stocked well with appliances but all food condiments will need to be purchased. Bug spray is handy. Most of all, make sure you have a camera because everything is so beautiful you won't want to forget it!
Directions:
We had to go to see the property managers first, who then led us to the villa. Those directions were fine. The directions given to us by our hosts to find the grocery store were not clear and we got lost. We would recommend written directions instead of the vague map supplied.

Everything was easy and we were shown great kindness.
