- This lovely villa overlooking the sea at Sant’Agata sui due Golfi is an ideal retreat for a family. A private Jacuzzi on a furnished terrace, spacious living areas, and modern amenities including air conditioning and wireless internet make this a comfortable villa. It is a convenient location from which to explore the Amalfi Coast, nearby Sorrento and Nerano.
- Location Description
The town of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi is located just 2 kilometers from the property. Described as “one of the pearls” in the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno, Sant’Agata sui due Golfi is perched on a hill offering views of the coast, sea, and two bays nearby. Today it is best known for its church of the same name, the monastery of Deserto, and its archeological ruins dating back to Etruscan times. Of course, there are also markets, shops, restaurants, including the historical Don Alfonso, and an endless amount of walking paths away from the main roads. Sorrento is 4 km away and less than 200 meters away you will find some good local restaurants and a nice bar. The SITA bus station is at less than 20 meters from the villa. The nearest beach is close to Sorrento but spectacular views and good restaurants can also be enjoyed on the beach in Nerano, around 7 km away. The location of the villa allows you to easily visit the surroundings: Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Capri, Pompeii and Vesuvius. It is also ideal for those who love countryside walks with fantastic views to Sorrento or Punta Campanella.

Overall:
This property was well located between St. Agata and Sorrento. The gated community provided security and privacy. Parking was available inside the property close to the entrance to the villa. The view was incredible!
Enjoyed Most:
The location! You could travel anywhere on the Amalfi Coast either by car, SITA (bus), or train to Pompeii and Herculaneum from Sorrento. We took the train to Pompeii and drove everywhere else.
Enjoyed Least:
Outside the gate there was trash and cats. All 3 bedrooms were upstairs while one bathroom was downstairs in the main living area. This would not pose a problem for a family sharing, but for couples it is not convenient. The kitchen was not very well equipped. Editor's Note: There was a problem with the manager of the complex (not the manager of the villa), which resulted in trash not being picked up outside the gate of the complex - and an ensuing court battle. It has now been settled, and a new manager has been hired for the complex, so there are no further issues with trash pickup.
Surrounding Area:
You could easily walk down a rather steep path to Sorrento in 20 minutes. We did not walk back to the villa but felt it was very possible. St Agata was convenient for restaurants and picking up wine and groceries.
Nearby Events or Locales:
St. Agata was the closest, but not an easy walk. As mentioned you could walk to Sorrento but the return hike would be strenuous as it is a very steep climb.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a Hotel Nido and a restaurant Il Borgo within a few hundred meters where you can eat.
Directions:
We used a GPS and the local manager met us at the Hotel Nido which was only a 100 meters from the villa.
Check In Out:
A cell phone is necessary in order to be able to call the manager. He operates out of a local establishment in St Agata and uses mostly text and cell phone to contact.

It was a good place to stay. It was central to all our traveling.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was wonderful.
Enjoyed Least:
It would have been great to have a dryer as we had trouble getting towels and clothes dry.
Surrounding Area:
The views were outstanding.
Nearby Events or Locales:
S. Agata a lovely town with everything we needed.
Tips or Restaurants:
Casa Laura was a great cooking school right in S Agata.
Directions:
We used a Garmin.
